2021: Creating a Year of More

How to Desire and Allow More Abundance

Choose joyful abundance in your heart and be unbounded, free, and relaxed. Be relentless with your choice, and you’ll make your mark. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree

I have carefully chosen my word for this year. It is the word: more. It may seem strange for a minimalist to choose this word, but I believe that positivity will work its magic here.

The reason that I chose the word more is that I strongly believe in abundance. I am continuing my 100-day journey exploring the beautiful overflow of life, one day at a time.

To me, when we frame something with positive words, we give it more power and strength. Instead of starting the new year with intentions such as: eating less, losing weight, or quitting an addiction, when we choose to frame our words differently, we feel better about our choices.

Here is how I intend to use my word more in framing my goals for this year:

I will drink more water. I will eat more vegetables and vegetarian dishes. I will walk in nature more. I will spend more time resting. I will write more. I will be more intentional with my time. I will spend more time doing things that bring me joy.

The good news is that last year, I started doing all of these things regularly. I am only adding to my abundance by choosing to do more of these activities.

When we frame our goals with the word more, they help us gain momentum. We start off feeling like we are already accomplishing something. I believe this is the key to success.

We often start a new year with a sense of dread. We feel like last year we did not accomplish our goals. Because of this, in the new year, we have to make radical changes. We end up feeling stuck.

From a place of feeling bad, it is harder to gain momentum. If we start off feeling good, we can slowly gain traction. That is the magic of the word more.

Create your “More List” for this year. Start with the magic!
