20 Quick Life Lessons I’ve Learned From Travelling
I won’t stop travelling because I’ve learned so much.

Travelling teaches us so many things. I don’t think I am doing it enough justice with only 20 items, but let’s go with that.
Here are 20 things I’ve learned from travelling. What do you think?
① Visiting a place for a day doesn’t mean you’ve really been there. Slow travel allows you to truly see how people live in a different country!
② Experiences trumps souvenirs. Is seeing elephants in the wild amazing or bringing home a keychain?
③ There is a different way of life and culture everywhere. Did you know milk comes in a bag in Canada?
④ $5 Canadian Dollars can mean little to you. But it can mean a lot to someone else. Let’s see — that would equate to almost 16 Malaysian Ringgits. You could buy a very delicious chicken meal AND a drink to keep you full for the entire day.
⑤ Don’t be afraid to explore every nook and cranny.
⑥ Travelling doesn’t have to be expensive. Hostels can be just as good as hotels, maybe sometimes even cleaner.
⑦ There is no right way or wrong way to travel. You learn something new on every trip you take.
⑧ Diets don’t exist on trips.
⑨ Solo travelling is a once in a lifetime experience.
⑩ Sometimes the best place to visit are not found in guide books. The most interesting attractions are off the beaten path.
⑪ Being able to travel is an opportunity and a gift. Not everyone has the chance to go on a trip to Europe.
⑫ You learn more about life in 1 year of travel than in 5 years of school.
⑬ Take a ton of photos and videos.
⑭ Treasure each moment because you might never experience it again. I wonder if I’ll see the Northern Lights again?
⑮ Don’t be afraid to try new experiences and make memories that you keep for life.
⑯ Not everyone has access to clean water or basic necessities of life.
⑰ Having no plans is ok. Sometimes the best things are spontaneous!
⑱ Travel teaches you gratitude and humbleness in a jiffy.
⑲ You stop taking things for granted. It’s easy to do that when we are lost in our busy lives.
⑳ When you go home to that warm king-sized bed and bidet, you truly appreciate what you have.
