Of Beautiful Dreams You Don’t Want to Wake Up From

Do your deceased loved ones visit you sometimes in your dreams?

I got visited by one of them recently, after a longer while. It felt as though the world suddenly became a better place. It was a beautiful dream that made me feel very emotional and inspired; however, it also made me realize how sad the real world is without those I love.

This poem expresses my happiness and sadness of meeting someone who’s no longer here with me in this world.

Today you came to me in my dream,

Oh, how happy I am to see you again.

One eternity I waited, it might seem,

But it made me forget all the pain.

You’ve always been my inspiration,

A beam of hope, a warm sunshine.

From all the dread and desolation,

You would save me all the time.

Why won’t you take me with you?

To finally be in an eternal bliss.

Only in my dreams can I see you,

Then wake up, and you miss.

Reality makes my heart break.

My eyes from crying sore,

I don’t want to be awake,

Let me dream a bit more.

I can’t wait until the next time I see my deceased loved ones in my dreams.
