Here’s a better place for short-form content
Have you ever read an article from a writer you truly enjoy reading from? While reading, you notice you have already reached the end of the article.
Wait! That’s fast!
I can’t stand reading short-form articles, it’s mental to me how there are writers out there sharing “how-to” in under 500 words. It’s annoying to me how there are plenty of writing platforms(exclude NewsBreak) that support a 2-minute read article.
Even Google these days has moved away from short-form content long ago. They understand how low the value these articles provide. Plus, AI writing is now full of this short-form content. It’s flooding Google so much that even they have drastically lowered the value of short-form content.
How Two-minute Content Should Be Utilized
Short-form content is classified as a response post simply because the main purpose of posting such content is to get quick information across. Much like people talking on social media.
I guess Medium have also started taking notice of this evergrowing need for writers to publish response post. It’s fine, but it could be better off on some other platform.👇

To prevent additional users from enrolling under the same handle, existing Medium usernames have also been reserved on Mastodon until March 20th. Members of Medium will be able to register any accessible me.dm username before this reservation expires.
Additional perks include access to hand-picked account recommendations for users to follow and the “professionally operated” stability.
According to TechCrunch, Medium runs the instance on its own infrastructure and has a dedicated Trust and Safety team that directly manages moderation. Even Tony Stubblebine, the CEO of Medium liked my post to congratulate me for joining the platform early!🥰

In a not so distant future, social media won’t be free to use and I understand why. With free subscriptions, content creators like me aren’t able to fully monetize our work, and the worst part of all that is scammers and spammers destroying our comment section. SCREW THEM!

Probably my favorite feature, Mastodon actually shows the trendline of growing popularity talks on their hashtags.
Say bye-bye to SEO(search engine optimization) driven articles now that you can instantly reach out to readers. I use this feature to write my articles and post the links to these hashtags to get readership into my blog. EASY TRAFFIC!!!
Automatic Posting
Medium has announced that they will be creating an automated feature that allows Medium writers to automate share their content links on Mastodon once writers click publish.
Be the Pioneer
As previously mentioned, Medium user that creates their account on Mastodon before 20th March has the first-mover advantage. While it has not been specifically mentioned, Medium has shared that there may be perks are given to new users on the platform.
