(19) Rock-a-Bye

(A horror story in 50 words.)
“You’re safe, Charlie,” Mother said, holding him tight in the darkness as howls sounded outside. His heart thumped against her chest.
“But it hurts,” he whispered. She smelled something on his breath. Something like meat.
Charlie’s eyes burned red in the darkness.
And his sharp teeth ripped into her throat.
