17 Days on Medium
What I Learned So Far: My Results, Struggles, and Motivation
It’s been 17 days since I started writing on Medium. In that time, I’ve published seventeen articles and gained around 25 followers. Not bad, but I know I can do better. So why am I writing this? To give you a snapshot of my progress, to share my struggles, and I hope to motivate others that are new.
What I love about Medium
Medium makes it easy to start writing. It’s very user-friendly and you can get started in minutes, if not seconds. Medium takes care of all the technical aspects so all you have to do is write and publish your article when you are ready! Medium also has a clean layout that allows the reader to focus on what they are reading instead of being distracted by design elements.
My Results and Snippets of Progress
My results so far have been okay. I’ve published seventeen articles, gained around 25 followers, and I feel that I’m gaining more traction every day. Let’s have a look at the stats and I’ll tell you two things I have changed in the past few days.

189 Views and 98 reads, I don’t think that is bad. But, about 70% of those reads have been in the past 5 days. “Is it traction?”

352 claps, most coming in the last 10 days. I did have one article on February 3 that had 82 claps. “Do Claps matter right now? with me not being a partner.”
Let’s answer those two questions below…
Is it Traction?
Something I started doing in the past five days is applying for publications and I have gotten published on several of the recent articles. I think this is a big part of my traction as of late.
Will it be enough traction to hit the Goal that I was hoping for by the end of the first month? 100 Followers
I guess it really depends on if I can continue posting good content and posting two posts per day for the rest of the month. <<< That’s another goal.
Do Claps Matter Right Now?
Absolutely, I think claps are all about the reads/engagement that I’m getting on each article. Those engagements are what will continue to drive my following up and allow me to have a shot at making 100 followers by the end of the month.

What is my Motivation to Continue Writing?
I have always loved writing, am very passionate about writing, but I think my biggest motivation for myself is I get enjoyment from writing something that might help someone else.
The case studies that I’m doing on different side hustles are exciting to me and then being able to share those experiences with you, to help teach someone something new. That is my ultimate motivation and the reason I think I can continue at this pace.
Closing Thoughts
Passion and love for something are what everyone needs to be looking for in life. I think I have found one of my passions, but time will tell.
I hope you enjoyed reading this and please FOLLOW for more articles to help you succeed in life, business, or a side hustle. Thank you for reading.
