Why are milestones so important to Writers?

I have always loved marking my milestones as a writer on Medium. After I completed 100, 500, 1000, 1200 stories on Medium I wrote articles commemorating those literary achievements.

Literary Milestones are so important and more writers need to start making them. I feel that milestones are important for every writer, as it helps to encourage you to write more articles and stories.

An article on your milestone will inspire you to keep writing. There will be days when you feel discouraged and do not want to write a single word. It is at that moment that you need to read the articles about your milestones.

You will notice that you have grown and evolved as a writer over the days, months, and years.

1. Write about 3 articles a day. Start with one article every day.

2. Write on a variety of topics. There is always a story waiting to be told.

3. Stories, poems, research articles, and tips make interesting reading.

4. Poetry is popular with many readers. Express yourself poetically.

5. Interact with more of your Fans, Readers, and other writers on Medium.

6. Passion and enthusiasm must be the foundation of your writings.

7. Write about topics which interest you a lot so do research on them.

8. Check out popular and trending subjects on Medium or any other publishing platform.

9. Follow and read the work of prolific writers on the writing platform or on social media.

10. Keep track of your statistics as you watch them grow. Add the statistics to your milestone article.

11. Writing Fiction series and submitting them to publications or publishing your work as E-books.

12. Write short articles, which direct readers to other articles which you have written. Keep a list of all the literary work that you have done over a week, month and year.

13. Illustrate your articles with suitable photos, from the public domain or your own images.

14. Record your writing Milestones and share those victories with your Readers and Followers.

15. Infusing your writings with your love, passion, and enthusiasm for writing. It is necessary to share your milestone articles on social media and on writing and publishing platforms so that they can be read and enjoyed by your readers and fellow writers.

You will receive a lot of positive feedback as well as a few criticisms, but this is to be expected. Learn to never rest on your laurels. Have a glass of champagne to celebrate your achievement and move forward to reach your next milestone. If you are presently on your 100th article milestone, then it is time to move towards attaining the 200th article milestone.

I can assure you that the life of a writer is not easy. There are no shortcuts to attaining success unless you are fortunate to be a truly gifted writer. To have literary milestones, it is vital that you as a writer keep writing every day. Writing must not feel like a chore, it should be a joy for you. The minute you feel bored take a break and go back to writing later, after getting inspired.

You are creating worlds as a writer. The more literary work you create, the quicker you will achieve those golden milestones. Keep writing and creating work for your readers, fans, and followers to enjoy.
