15 Things I Wish I Told my First Boyfriend
A love letter 30 years later
- We’re going to change and we may grow apart. It’s okay. Change is good. We will become different people, but our relationship will help shape who we are down the road.
- You are a wonderful and kind person. Let’s not waste this special time.
- We should spend more time with our families, a day may come when they will no longer be around.
- Go back to school, we’re so young and you can be anything you set your mind to.
- You are smarter than you think.
- Eat healthily and exercise, we won’t be 16 forever.
- The world is ours, we can do anything, go anywhere, we can design our lives starting today.
- 30 years from now we may not be together, but 30 years from now you will still have a place in my heart.
- It’s okay if we don’t see each other every day, it’s okay to miss each other, it’ll make our time together that much better.
- I will forgive you for cheating on me, it’ll just take time but I will.
- I will forgive you for falling in love with someone else, life happens.
- I will forgive you for breaking up with me, and when I see my son the same age as you when we were together, I will then understand how young we were.
- We are not perfect, but you are still worthy of a full and enriched life, as am I.
- You will be more significant in my life than either of us will ever know.
- And finally, when I sit back and watch both my children with their first loves, a special part of me remembers ours.
To my very first love…
