14 Amazing Things Water Does To Our Bodys If We Drink 8 Cups A Day.

It's time to drink up and feel the benefits.

I live on coffee near enough all day every day, and as you probably know, that really isn’t the best thing to do. Sure it’s made with water, but it’s caffeine, and too much of it can make me feel sick, have headaches, and feel very lightheaded.

So instead of drinking a massive amount of caffeine each day, I’m going to start drinking around 8 glasses of water instead, which is roughly around 2 litres.

I’ve done my research and have found some amazing benefits, and I’m going to share them with you all today.

Before we jump into the benefits, let’s find out why water is so super good for us……

We lose a ton of water each day, this can be through sweating, breathing, and digestion. So we need to replace all the lost fluids, and the best way to do this is by drinking water.

Our bodies also need water to flush out all those disgusting toxins, help regulate our temperature 🌡 it also helps with our metabolism, which is perfect if you’re trying to lose weight. (cough cough ME)

We know that drinking water is essential, however, there is such thing as overhydration, and this means our kidneys cannot get rid of the excess water, and when this happens, there’s too much water in our cells (this also includes brain cells) which can, unfortunately, create swelling in the brain.

Signs of overhydration are….

Confusion

Disorientation

Nausea

Vomiting

In extremely severe cases this can even cause death.

Please don’t be put off by this. As long as we drink the recommended daily amount, which is roughly 2 liters a day, we will be fine.

Okay, so now were passed that little warning, let’s find out the 20 reasons why drinking water is absolutely amazing for our bodies

  1. Prevents dehydration- We already know this, but I’ll list it anyway because hydration is so important. Dehydration is associated with so many problems such as fatigue, headaches, urine infections, constipation, dry skin, dry lips, and much more.
  2. Weight loss- Water can help you feel full, and sometimes you might think you’re hungry, but you’re really just thirsty. Water also helps improve your metabolism which is great. If you drink a few glasses of water before you eat a meal, it can help prevent you from eating too much, which means you’re less likely to gain weight.
  3. Hair- Water improves the condition of your hair, making it feel soft and shiny. It also prevents split ends.
  4. Dandruff- Water prevents dandruff, dry skin, and eczema, which can all affect the scalp.
  5. Skin glow- Yes, drinking water can literally make your skin appear to have a lovely soft, healthy-looking glow. Water delivers essential nutrients to your skin cells which keeps your skin replenished and looking radiant.
  6. Eye health- Water helps keep the eyes healthy. Dehydration can cause all sorts of problems with our eyes, such as cataracts, dry eyes, and retinal vascular disease.
  7. Periods- I was very surprised to learn that water can prevent period cramps. For anyone that suffers excruciating period pain, drinking some water can definitely help. 💧
  8. High cholesterol- Another great reason to drink up.
  9. Congestion-If you have a cold, let’s be honest you feel crap. Your voice is raspy, and you have so much mucus trapped in your throat. Water helps loosen all that up and can relieve everything.
  10. Joints- Regularly drinking water helps to cushion all your joints and will help with any aches and pains
  11. Wrinkles- Water helps prevent any premature wrinkles.
  12. Hangovers- Everybody hates those darn things. I like to drink tons of water before I go to bed and throughout the following day.
  13. UTI’S- I’ve had plenty in my lifetime, and these are usually associated with cystitis, which causes a burning sensation when you pee, and oh my gosh it hurts. So drink up, so you don’t have to experience this.
  14. Concentration- Water helps us concentrate a lot more than usual. So if you’re struggling to come up with any creative ideas, drink some water to help.

These are so good, and half of them I never knew, like eye health, periods, concentration, and cholesterol. So I hope this was enough to convince you because it sure has me.

So now we know why water is mega important, let’s come up with a plan to make sure we drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Waking up- Drink 2 glasses of water before breakfast.

Midmorning- Drink 1 glass

Lunch- 2 glasses of water, one before your meal and one during

Mid-afternoon- 1 glass

Dinner- 2 glasses of water, again one before and one during

And this is it, 8 glasses of water a day. I’m going to try my absolute best to keep this up because these benefits sound incredible.

Tricks to drink more water if you're not that keen-

Use a straw

Chop up some fruit and make a fruity water

Add a splash of juice i.e orange juice, blackcurrant juice.

I hope I’ve convinced you to drink more water and If you do, I hope you can feel all the benefits.
