Michael Jeffrey Jordan is an American former basketball player. He is mostly known for his playing career and the iconic sneakers ‘Air Jordan’s. MJ was born in Brooklyn, New York to James R. Jordan Sr and Deloris Jordan on 17 February, 1963.

He started playing basketball in at Emsley A. Laney high school in North Carolina before joining the University of North Carolina. In his college career, Michael Jordan was named ACC Freshman of the year with 13.4 ppg. He also won the 1982 NCAA championship.

MJ was selected by the Chicago Bulls and made his NBA debut in 1984 and scored 16 points. Throughout his playing career, he has only ever represented two teams namely Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards.

With the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan went to the final six times winning six. He was also named NBA Finals MVP six times.

At Kentucky, he started sharing a starting spot with Jamaal Magloire and was a key contributor when the wildcats won the NCAA championship in 1998.

After two and a half seasons with Philadelphia, Mohammed was traded in February 2001 to Atlanta Hawks.
