12 Questions a Creator Needs To Ask Themselves
Here are the 12 questions and my answers.

A new email from Josh Spector popped into my inbox this morning, and as soon as I clicked on the first link, an article was born.
The link goes to his website where he gives 12 questions every creator needs to ask themselves.
I’m going to answer his questions in this article, and if you decide to do it too, let me know in the comments. I’d love to read your answers.
1. Why do you want to be a creator?
I have quite a few reasons. They include:
- Using my mind for something other than cleaning, laundry, and dishes.
- Making some extra fun money I can use to have awesome experiences with my family (without being stuck in a cubicle all day).
- Showing my kids I can set goals and stick to them (and they can too).
- Connecting with other interesting creators.
- Helping guide other people along the creator path.
2. Who do you want to serve?
Other busy creators (especially parents!) who have this creativity inside of them they want to let out so they can make some side income but don’t know where to start and can’t have it be too complicated.
3. What transformation do you want to help people make through your creations?
- Not knowing where to start → A starting point and a simple, clear path
- Little to no income → Extra income to use for bills, groceries, Chevelle concerts (oh, is that just me?), or anything else they want
- Limited mind → A mind with no limitations and can easily see a way to reach their goals
4. What won’t you do?
Here are 3 things I refuse to do.
5. Whose audience would you want?
I like the audience I’m creating now, but if I had to switch, maybe I’d snag Kieran Drew’s audience.
He has a big following (including me!) and I know they’re passionate about creating on the internet. He’s done a great job creating a list of quality fans.
6. What does success look like?
Here’s what my dream side hustle looks like. The funny thing is, I’m pretty much already living it. Now it’s a matter of improving and reaching for bigger, more exciting goals.

7. What’s something you believe that most people don’t?
Manifesting is 100% real (it’s been proven to me many times), and you can use it to your advantage.
And…Chevelle is the greatest band. (Come on, you know I had to…)
8. What can you create and publish at least once a week?
Medium articles and my newsletter.
9. Where do you fall on the Artist-Entrepreneur spectrum?
I’m a free spirit, so I fall more on the artist spectrum. I like being a solopreneur, but I struggle with plans and systems.
10. What are you willing to invest?
I’m willing to invest money when it makes sense. But I’m more willing to invest my time. And that’s because I enjoy what I’m doing so much.

11. Do you prefer writing, video, audio, or images?
Writing and images.
12. What would you do with a huge platform if you had one?
Cry because it would probably overwhelm me. I want to continue keeping things as simple as possible.
Thank you, Josh, for the awesome questions. I’m happy to realize how easy it was to answer all of these. That means I’m on the right track!
I look forward to reading your answers, too! Let me know in the comments, or send me a link if you post your own story.
