11 Things Keeping You Stuck in a Low Vibration

Everything is energy and everything vibrates at a certain frequency. When you are in a high vibration, you attract the things you want to you easily — you naturally attract abundance and positivity.
But there are things we do in our everyday lives that lower our vibration without even knowing it. Vibration is not just some esoteric woo-woo craziness. It is backed by science.
A high vibration is achieved when you free yourself from things that drain your energy and weigh you down. Letting go of things that don't serve you positively impact the way you feel. And the more good emotions you feel throughout your day, the higher your vibration.
This does not mean that you are always happy and positive — it means in a high vibration, you are resilient enough to recover faster when you experience negative emotions.
Here are 11 things that affect the way you feel
1. People and Places
I can bet you have people in your life right now that are keeping you in a low vibration. Or places you go to that make you feel not so good. The thoughts in your head might not even be your own. It could be your friend's thoughts. Your roommate was feeling fearful when you had a conversation with her and after that, you notice you are feeling fear. You picked up on energy that does not belong to you.
The people closest to us affect the way we feel. People can make you feel whatever it is they are feeling and if they are negative things, you also feel negative things — which brings your energy and your vibration down. The opposite is true — when you have a conversation with a high vibrational person and find that you feel great afterward!
I am not saying cut people off with no good reason, but limit the time you spend around people who bring your vibration down. Sometimes you just have to let them go for good. Let people who don't support your dreams go. If you don't feel great after spending time with a person or going to a certain place, you have a decision to make.
2. Worry and Overthinking
We all fall victim to worrying. And it is understandable to worry, especially in a time like this, but worrying does nothing but rob you of your joy and peace. I know this is easier said than done but learn to put your trust in the universe and believe that you will be taken care of.
Catch yourself when you are overthinking in situations you cannot control. Overthinking leads to anxiety, depression, and other mental health-related problems. Consciously choose positive thoughts even when things are not so great. Over time, this tricks your mind into thinking more positive thoughts instead of negative ones.
3. Television and the News
This is a tough one and I am not saying turn off the television 100% of the time, but limit the time you spend watching television. Instead of watching other people live their dreams, get up and live your own. Sure, stay informed at all times but do not engage in anything that makes you fearful. Programs that keep you stuck in fear lower your vibration.
Steer clear of the news and any media that influence you negatively. If you find that you are sad or angry after watching the news, give it up completely or limit the time you spend watching it. Only consume information that uplifts you and makes you feel at peace. This is especially important in these uncertain times.
4. Negative Thinking and Negative Self-Talk
Negative thinking and negative self-talk can have a negative effect on our lives. It causes us stress, anxiety, and depression. For many people, it has become a habit. It's ok to have negative thoughts but do not identify with them. Observe them, acknowledge them and then let them go.
The consequence of negative self-talk is a low vibration. Be mindful of the things you say to yourself. Your thoughts and words have power. They hold enough power to create your reality — choose them wisely.
5. Junk Food and Beverages
Food is energy and every time you eat or drink something, you absorb that food’s energy into your body. The quality of the food you eat has a huge impact on your health and vibration. If you eat food that is processed with chemicals, your body doesn't get all the nutrients it needs from it.
Eating healthy and nutritious food that is natural and unprocessed gives your body the nutrients it needs — which purifies your body, boosts your energy level and raises your vibration. Sure, treat yourself to junk food every now and then — because you deserve it, right? But be aware of the way your body and mind feel afterward.

6. Mess and Clutter
Keeping a clean space is important not only to your physical health but your emotional and mental health. Keeping a clean space reduces stress levels. A clean space brings feelings of peace and calm, which leads to more positive feelings. Clean out your car and declutter your garage. Keep your workspace clear of clutter.
Clutter can weigh down on your energy field and lower your vibration. Get rid of clutter in all areas of your life. Open your windows for sunlight and fresh air. Keep lots of open spaces. Don't forget to make your bed every morning. You will feel happier coming home to a clean bed.
7. Gossip and Jealousy
If you talk negatively about others, you attract to you people who talk negatively. You attract negative conversations and other people who like to gossip. When we do this, we focus our attention on the things we do not want. Whatever we project out, we get back. Gossip keeps you stuck in a very low vibration.
So does jealousy — it is an emotion that instills in you negative thoughts, fear, insecurity, anxiety, anger, sadness, and all the negative emotions you can think of. Appreciate where you are in your unique journey and don't compare your life to others.
8. Closed and Narrow Mindset
A closed-minded person is not open to new information. When your mind is closed, you miss out on important information. A closed mind is not open to any new ideas and often refuses to modify or change their behavior. A closed-minded person is stuck in their ways and their perspectives and thinks they know it all, never welcoming changes to their viewpoints.
As you ascend in consciousness, your understanding of the world becomes broader. You are open to new information and you have the wisdom to decide between right and wrong. Be open to new information.
9. Victim Mentality and Martyr Complex
It is so easy for us to get in the victim mentality, which is where we feel that things are being done to us. Someone with a victim mentality will constantly complain about the hardships that life has bestowed upon them instead of taking accountability.
They blame everybody else for their problems, but never themselves. This type of negative thinking keeps you stuck in a low vibration. Instead, take accountability and inventory of your life and admit the role you played in the situation you find yourself in. This will allow you to let go of the past and raise your vibration.
10. Social Media and the Internet
This is another hard one. There are ways in which social media is beneficial, but limiting your social media usage can help raise your vibration. In the world we live in, social media is a way to stay connected and most of us work on our social media platforms.
If you cannot completely eliminate social media, make sure you are only following people and pages that inspire you and uplift your spirit. Ensure that your feed is filled with positive energy and not things that drain your energy and steal your peace.
11. Judgment and Criticism
Judging others is a behavior that negatively affects the way you feel. Admit it, we all judge sometimes. This includes judging ourselves. We judge others because we want to feel better about ourselves. It may make us feel like we are better than them. It lowers your vibration every time you pass judgment. Notice your behavior. That is the first step to stopping this habit.

It is possible that you can feel good a majority of the time — even in the face of adversity and uncertainty. With a change in lifestyle and in your consciousness, you will realize that you are getting more and more in a high vibration every day. You can do it.
