11 Things Americans Should be Annoyed About
Are we eroding or evolving? or USA Another Sinking Titanic?

I was born in India, and I was raised in India for most of my life. Hence, like every other kid living in a developing country, I too often blatantly criticised the political system of my homeland and praised the American like the holy of them all. However, no one mainly talked me into believing American is the epitome of governance, but I deduced this result based on my observation.
I would often read about the superiority of the American passport, and our news channels would glorify the achievements of the states along with putting a lot of light on how the White House and the federal government cares for its citizens and would go to any length to protect them and bring them back from dangerous and critical situations or terrains.
I grew up watching Hannah Montana, which was later followed by Sex And The City; I had convinced myself that American was indeed the land of freedom, equality, and absolute abundance. I genuinely believe in the magic of American and the great American dream. It was only in my late teenage years that the true and disturbing image of American and its imperfections unfolded in front of me.
That naive girl thought everyone is happy and satisfied in the land of liberty.
11 things American should be furious about.
And why?
1. Income disparity
American presidents are billionaires, and voters are living the borrowed life of mortgage. It is very natural to have differences in income, status and privileges in open and capitalist economies.
Only the fittest will survive.
~ Darwin
But we can’t forget that we live in a sovereign country and not a jungle where the grab and go policy can work. The powerful can’t snap every opportunity and snatch the natural rights and sharing of the weak and deprived, and nor can the government act as a silent spectator while this havoc happens right under their nose.
2. Long Lost family values.
Either we have hippies or cults.
I belong to an Asian household, and I hated those conservative values and traditions, and I still do. But asking my parents’ permission to drop by my childhood home is too much. I want the freedom to visit my house whenever I want to, and for how long I want to, I don’t need the entire society to judge me for living with my parents at 20 or even 25.
The American fixation on leaving the nest is bizarre; it’s far more economical, secure and comfortable to live at home. You must help with the household duties but running two homes without sufficient means isn’t gonna take you, your career, or your emotional well-being anywhere.
The American family is breaking, and just because it’s a custom doesn’t make it right and absolute.
Moms basement is the new cool.
— Pete Davidson
3. Excessive idealism and hero-worshipping
Let’s make Beyoncé and Kanye, the president.
I have spent countless nights dancing on single ladies, and I adore queen B’s music, And my guilty pleasure Is watching Keeping up with Kardashians, but the fixation must end there. We can’t make every second pop icon the United States president; the qualification is much more than a good voice or southern values.
When it comes to such decisions, we need to put on the goggles of rationality and not mere emotions.
Hollywood’s gilts and glamour blind the Americans, and they need to push back and stay no spoon feed agendas, news or misleading people and stop putting people on pedestals.
4. Inflation and poor monetary planning on the name of a free economy with lack of a welfare state
{ PS: privacy who? }
The Statue of Liberty stands tall and mighty. It represents the ideology of America and the principles of great American leaders and their people. But with the stock market crashing and the value of US treasury bonds on a free fall, a disaster is waiting to happen. America surely witnesses excellent financial success, but when the depression hits inflation and no social security or savings, the citizens are left to starch the surface for years to come.
I stand with the free market idea, but leaving your people high and dry without any safety net is unexpected. Home and families are devastated, and the American dream becomes a sight of mockery.
5. Why is it so expensive to eat healthy ?
{Food desserts and foods manners }
If McDonald’s can do it for $1, then why can’t the White House.
Despite having tons of farmland, storage facilities, transportation, and top-notch agriculture machinery and seeds, how do we fail to feed our people right?
This is beyond me.
6. The Neverending dispute over Class and race.
{it’s all soul and soil }
Why its so hard for humans to be humane.
My fellow American, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once, too.
— Barack Obama
We were born the same, and we will depart as same. Can’t we practice a little compassion, accommodation and forgiveness? We all have our set of insecurities and inabilities. If we started treating people how we want to be treated, the world would become a much simpler and happy place.
All the world needs is a little kindness and reflection.
7. Wars
{ nobody wins them }
Theodore Roosevelt once suggested that the national seal must be changed from the eagle to the great American Bear. He believed that although America is powerful and majestic, it will always be alone.
The deduction is simple, i.e. showing off power in the day and going to an empty home is silly and impotent.
None are champions, and none are losers. The days of domination and bipolar and unipolar world are long gone in today’s times every country has nuclear power, and Human Resource’s to live with their heads raised high up.
We all have to adapt to parallel living.
8. Drugs, guns, and Teenage pregnancy
{ the teen mommy town }
I don’t care if you are democrat, republican, black, white or brown. Guns kill — period end of sentence and argument.
America is all about a free economy and competitiveness. The States have legalised the possession and use ( or as I must say, abuse ) of weed. The cannabis industry is booming, observing 17.2 billion dollars in legal sales during 2020, a 46% growth.
The question in the hour is :
What will be the future of a nation where its states choose revenue over innocent lives?
Is the reality of the American dream so bad that Americans want to escape it by intoxication?
Feminists and political leaders are fighting across the world for the privilege of abortions and a minimum of 18 years as the legal age for marriage. And an unprecedented amount of Americans are sprinting back to the middle ages by having kids at 13 and getting married at 16.
The question in the hour is :
Are Americans prepared to lead the world anymore? or is the American vision too blurred by ratifying all?
9. Education and illiteracy
{ Mecca for world learners and a nightmare for its kids}
Students across the world flock to the United States to comprehend and be mentored by the best professionals, yet the paradox is that it’s born and bred are deprived and disenchanted from prospects of higher education. As a result, most high-paying jobs are being acquired by immigrants, and the citizens are left with low yielding blue-collar jobs. I’ll let you be the judge of the situation as to why this happens. Is it the unbelievable cost of education? Lack of drive? Some cultural factors? Or is it a simple choice?
Your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. The future of America depends on you. What you are learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.
— Barack Obama
And yet, the most desired profession in the USA is becoming an influencer. So let’s hope the Tiktok generation will serve us good.
The Americans have been brainwashed with a sensation that formal education is nasty because the state can not substitute it and have made education a luxury.
10. Medicine and health care
{ Saviour of Africa and murderer of inhabitants }
Although the USA never bragged about its social services or welfare statism, it did not have any free and efficient medical benefits scheme for the unprivileged. Yet, I expected the state to take better care of its citizens. We saw the horrifying face of the American medical system during the ongoing pandemic and a significant state failure. For months at a stretch, the USA topped the world in the infected count and daily death. America is famous for sending medicines and aid to various underdeveloped and third world countries specially to Africa and Asia, yet the numbers tell a different tale.
Covid deaths ( till date )
USA ~ 597,377
Brazil ~ 472,531
Spain ~ 82,000
Italy ~ 126,472
It is a low for a country that developed vaccines for smallpox, anaesthesia, heart surgery, and other breakthrough research work and inventions.
The masses should be outraged for not having access to primary, affordable health care when your government becomes a flag bearer of human rights on every International front.
How did America fail its people despite having all the cards stacked In its favour?
America is blessed with volume and wealth.
The following are the areas where Americans have a natural and notable advantage over other nations -
The states remained Unharmed and unharnessed land.
Fortunately, much of American wasn’t colonised, and the one under the British regime wasn’t ruled for a long enough time compared to its other counterparts to have all its resources stripped from them. When the European powers were looting Africa and Asia, for the most part, America remained undiscovered and undisturbed. Invaders did not attract the Americans, nor did they fight major international battles.
And hence they had the most perfect and clean slate to build up from, along with an abundance of unharnessed natural resources.
It didn’t have to deal with terrorism until a couple of decades earlier.
The Americans saw their first and last significant encounter with terrorism on the sad day of 9/11. South-East Asian and African nations had faced Naxalism, rebel groups, violent communist attacks, and other attempts to terrorise the masses and agenda-driven violence for a significant period.
Although the states continue to face a terror threat, yet, the forces have tamed and neutralised the situation strategically and efficiently.
The United States have Undisputed lands hardships with neighbouring countries.
Although America is not landlocked and had its fair share of squabble with its southern neighbours of Mexico and Cuba, it is sheltered by water from east and west along with being fortunate to have its entire northern stretch guarded by the friendly Canadians. All of this together makes the geographic position of America strategic and safe for its inhabitants.
But unlike America, most of the other countries like India and Brazil have 9 or 10 neighbours respectively who are neither prosperous nor peaceful. As a result, they become prominent players leading to land and power disputes coupled with illegal activities and prolonging attempts of destabilising the government and terrorising the masses.
It has colossal Money holdings.
American is the ultimate playground of millionaires and billionaires. Owning a penthouse in Manhattan or a luxurious and spacious villa in Beverly Hills or Hamptons is probably on the checklist of most wealthy folks. And the New York stock exchange is the cradle of the stock market.
As a result of having such huge chunks of money in circulation, employment and overall development make the states the most happening place to be with no shortage of economic action.
The best things in life are free, and the second-best things are very expensive.
— Coco Chanel
America has vast land with every possible season, terrain, and topography.
One can live without anything, and everything but water, food, and shelter { In that order } and America has no shortage of agricultural land along with an array of soil types, climates, and seasons to support crops and vegetation.
They have a significant coastline to support seafood demand and farmlands hosting and raising cattle, and other meat produces. America also has the third-largest freshwater reserves in the world. When all this is combined, the USA is as self-sufficient in food as a nation-state can be in this era of co-dependency and multilateral trading.
They have a robust land to population ratio.
Yes, America is big, bold, and beautiful.

As a comparative analysis backed by tangible facts and figures is the best way of convincing, Let the numbers do the talking, and all of this will make sense.
USA
Total population of: 329.5 million
The total area of: 9.834 million sq km
Population density: 33. 67 people per square kilometres
India
Total population of: 1.38 billion
The total area of: 3.287 million sq km
Population density: 464 people per square kilometres
China
Total population of: 1.44 billion
The total area of: 9.597 million sq km
Population density: 153 people per square kilometres
*Population density = inhabitants per sq km of land
Hence, whereas India has one-third of land compared to the USA, it holds four times the American population, making development and “space “a luxury.
The delta of the worlds brain drain
America is fortunate enough to have access to the most brilliant brains in all fields of function. The charm of the American dream not only allures big brains from developing countries, but the land of opportunity also fascinates the smartest of all from American counterparts from Europe and Asian countries like Japan and Singapore.
Whereas the rest of the world is dealing with a shortage of change-makers, America is crowded to the brim with the intellect from across the globe.
The USA is the motherland of firsts and technology
The 8 Ivey leagues nested across America offer the best education money can buy, and thanks to these institutions, its alma matters have succeeded in their desired field. It also has an abundance of regional colleges, and there is always an opportunity to learn and grow for the ones seeking so.
When the conventional societies are busy focusing on the importance of obedience and formal education, America beats the trumpet of freedom of expression. It pays little importance to rigid degree-based education. Thanks to this liberal approach, the Americans get an early opportunity to uncage their ideas and dreams, hence become the world leader of technology and science.
The country is very forgiving when it comes to following your heart and switching careers or simply starting too late or too early.
Oil was first discovered on American soil.
America and oil indeed have an old bond, and it has enormous strategic oil reserves along with unharnessed natural gas reserves.
My younger brother and I often crack jokes about the American obsession with crude oil and anything to do with energy; for instance, he suggested that I alter my oily sink or the United States would invade my nose.
These instances say a lot about America and its international image in association with fuel. Although it’s a controversial topic yet, it’s safe to say that Americans will not be the first to run out of resources.
It holds one of the Greatest army and a stable political system.
There has not been any threat to American sovereignty as far as I can recall. No foreign power has ever attempted to overthrow the elected federal representatives. And nor have there been any misuse or abuse of the democratic framework.
America is also fortunate enough to be equipped with a world-class defence mechanism, devices, machinery, and human soldiers.
The US military is so powerful and committed that no one else dares to challenge the Americans other than Kim Jong-un.
Yet even after being a prosperous nation-state with little to no signs of historical turmoil, America is on the verge of collapse and absolute disharmony and distress.
The division caused by race and wealth topped with the rigid segregation between the democrats and republicans are the perfect recipe for downfall and fiasco. We need to get our priorities clear and align our line of thought and look above our differences at a common goal of welfare and harmony.
All great and powerful kingdoms came to an end, but their people have a say in how and when it happens.
