11 Dead Simple Steps to Your First Side Hustle (for Just $19)
You might never have heard of these

If you’ve ever tried to create on the side, you’ll know that being able to come up with ideas can be a stumbling block.
When you don’t have much time, the easiest option is to pick off the easiest ideas and run with them.
But what if you don’t have a good execution plan? This will only make you repeat every step from the start with another idea.
You see execution is the most important step when you are starting your hustle.
By the end of this article you will have:
- “Red pill” Content
- Deeper customer knowledge
- A standardized service business
- Simple technology to run it
- Great social proof for it
- And a seamless process for making $$
Here’s the entire 11-step business plan for you.
1/ Clean up your social profiles
Your social media profiles are your mini landing pages.
With one glance, people should know the prospects:
- Who you help
- What you help them do
- How do you help them do it
Capture the audience’s attention by being clear, not clever.
2/ Create ‘Red pill’ content
Create your ‘Red pill’ content around one challenge.
‘Red pill’ content is something I heard Shaan Puri say and I have never forgotten it.
Your content should present a new take. You might say a new angle.
A different approach than other people take to solve a challenge. Being different makes you unique. If you are new, think of a topic you can talk about for an hour (continuously).
When you create content like that, you are going to get questions on social media. And questions present opportunities.
When you are just starting, leverage a combo of public/private responses. You can answer questions publicly, and take them to DM to add deeper context.
3/ Chat with 10 people for free
It’s time for some action. Work to get 10 people on Zoom or calls who have the same problem.
A problem you can solve with the help of your ‘Red pill’ thinking.
Do a deeper discovery into 4 levels:
- Technical problem
- Historical problem
- Financial Impact
- Personal impact
4/ Create a standard process
Once you understand a problem, you need a solution. However, a solution is best when standardized.
This step-by-step process predictably delivers high-quality results for the people you intend to help. Help you and your audience smoothly.
This is a more scalable process than ad-libbing it.
5/ Building your landing page
Once you have a standardized process, you need a place to offer it.
It’s time to build your landing page on Carrd. I recommend using Carrd because it’s very helpful in building simple, beautiful, functional landing pages for just $19 per year.
After building your landing page embed 5–8 testimonials on it.
Social proof helps close deals. Ask the 10 people you helped for free to write you some.
Tell them to talk about the problem they had and how you solved it.
Put the testimonials near the top so people see them. Get some near your “buy” button.
6/ Open up a Calendly account
Open up a Calendly account and embed it on your landing page.
This provides a frictionless, seamless way to get people into your calendar for your new business consulting/coaching.
Let’s make it easy for people to understand what they’ll get.
7/ Create an event
Create your event like “From X to Y in 60 minutes”. The more specific you can make the outcome, the better.
It’s not like: “Learn to code”
It’s: “From clueless to coding your first HTML page in 60 minutes.”
In the second, the outcome is clear. You’ll learn to code your first page in HTML.
After you are done with all… choose a reasonable price point.
Start with a price that people are willing to pay. But make it 2x to 3x what you make at work.
For example, if you make $100k at work, that’s basically $50/hour.
Try $150/hour.
You can also experiment often to find the sweet spot.
8/ 9 to 5 slots
Open up a few slots outside of your 9 to 5.
Pick a few times outside of your 9 to 5 where you’d like to make a bit of extra cash.
Maybe it’s just 3–4 hours per week, but if you fill those slots, that’s an extra $2,000 or more per month.
That’s some people’s mortgage!
9/ Link your page to social
Add the link to your social profiles.
Attach your Carrd landing page to a custom URL and add it to your social pages.
- Twitter Bio
- A personal website
- LinkedIn featured section
- Your YouTube Page
- Medium
And anywhere else that people can find you online.
10/ Continue on your problem
The next part is critical.
Keep creating that red pill content!
Now that you have your business set up, you’re ready to drive customers.
Push out content daily on LinkedIn/Twitter or anywhere else you normally hang out.
Drive traffic as much as you can, and be consistent.
11/ Share with people
Now, when people ask questions, you can share your brand-new link.
Sure, some people won’t book, but some will.
And if 3–4 people do, you’re paying off that mortgage faster than ever.
That’s it.
Congrats! You have your first side hustle.
