Summary

The article critically examines the double standards in society's treatment of male and female politicians, using British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's personal life as a case study to illustrate how his conduct, if exhibited by a woman, would likely preclude her from attaining the same level of political success.

Abstract

The article titled "If Boris Johnson Was A Female He Wouldn’t Be Prime Minister" delves into the personal life of the British Prime Minister, highlighting his repeated adulterous behavior and the societal double standards that allow him to maintain his position despite actions that would be heavily scrutinized and likely career-ending for a female politician. It argues that if Nicola Sturgeon, for example, had a similar personal history, she would be harshly judged and labeled derogatory terms, whereas Boris Johnson faces minimal accountability. The piece suggests that Johnson's actions, which include multiple extra-marital affairs and children born out of wedlock, set a poor example for the nation and perpetuate misogynistic views. It also points out the hypocrisy in Johnson's attempt to label himself a feminist while engaging in behavior that undermines gender equality. The article concludes by asserting that if Boris Johnson were a woman, his philandering ways would have barred him from becoming Prime Minister.

Opinions

  • The author believes that Boris Johnson's personal conduct, characterized by repeated adultery and fathering children outside of marriage, would not be tolerated if he were a woman in politics.
  • Society's double standards are highlighted, with the media and public likely to vilify a female politician for similar behavior, potentially forcing her to resign.
  • The article suggests that Johnson's actions, far from being condemned, are almost celebrated by some, reflecting a patriarchal society that holds different moral standards for men and women.
  • The piece criticizes the lack of accountability for Johnson's actions and questions whether he himself is aware of the number of children he has fathered.
  • It is argued that Johnson's behavior undermines his claim to be a feminist and contributes to the perpetuation of misogynistic attitudes in society.
  • The author calls for a reevaluation of how society judges the personal lives of politicians, advocating for equal standards regardless of gender.

If Boris Was a Female

Imagine Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland conducted her personal life in a similar manner to Boris Johnson. The country would label her a slag and a slut. Her personal affairs would serve as shackles around her ankles.

The media would have a field day. Yet Boris Johnson seems able to lead as adulterous life as he wishes. He has limited accountability and cares for the consequences of his actions.

We all have our own opinions of Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the UK. Yet despite his ways, he has a vast network of supporters. His fans readily oversee and forgive any wrongdoings.

Politics aside for one moment. Surely even his most loyal and vehement supporters don’t condone his relationship history. It is rife with multiple extra-marital affairs. And those who minimize his actions, I am interested to hear their views on a female who acts in a similar manner.

The UK Prime Minister is a repeat adulterer who has literally gone forth and multiplied. He has sewn his wild oats haphazardly. Without care for anyone but himself.

Lead By Example

Does the way Boris conducts his personal affairs make him fit to lead a country? In his position, he is meant to be an example to the nation. Yet I would argue, he is not someone we should emulate and look up to.

His message is loud and clear. Men, you can do whatever the hell you want, with whoever you want. Regardless of any marital status or pregnancy consequences.

Stories of his womanizing and betrayals are all over the internet. Article after article outlines his history. Article after article depicts his cheating ways.

The Prime Minister’s Relationship History As a Female

Let’s break down the complex and adulterous relationship history of the prime minister. I will explain this as if he were a female. To be clear, I will refer to him as Boris, but he will be the one who is pregnant. Are you sitting comfortably?

Wife 1 to wife 2

In 1987 Boris marries wife number 1. They do not have any children.

During this marriage, he falls pregnant with his first child to soon-to-be wife number 2.

In 1993 a divorce is agreed and he leaves wife number 1 when he is almost 8 months pregnant with wife number 2’s child. Twelve days after his divorce he marries wife number 2 and 5 weeks later his first child is born. During his relationship with wife number 2, he has 4 children.

Adulterous Behaviour

Throughout the relationship with wife number 2, Boris plays the field. Clearly, his marriage vows and promise to remain faithful are long forgotten.

Between 2000 and 2004 Boris has an affair with mistress number 1. During this time he has a miscarriage and terminates a pregnancy.

In 2006 there is speculation introduced that Boris is having an affair with mistress number 2 and mistress number 3 at similar times.

In 2009 Boris falls pregnant with his 5th child with mistress number 3. This was initially kept secret. However, a judge ruled the public has a right to know about his “reckless” behavior. An article detailing the trial, mentions Boris has 2 children as a result of extra-marital affairs.

In 2012 Boris frolics about deceptively for 4 years with mistress number 4.

Yes, all of these affairs are when he is still married to wife number 2 and producing and raising their 4 children.

Wife 2 to wife 3

In 2018 Boris and wife number 2 issue a joint statement, stating they have separated and divorce proceedings are in process.

By 2019, Boris is already living with his girlfriend and soon-to-be wife number 3. Boris falls pregnant with his 7th child (that we know of), and in 2020 welcomes this child into the world.

Just last week, in May 2021 Boris marries wife number 3.

To this day Boris has not confirmed how many children he has. Does he even know himself? He tried to keep the child with mistress 3 secret, has he managed to keep other secrets? We know of a possible 7 children to 4 different women. Are there others?

Misogynistic Views

Can you imagine if a senior female politician had as colorful a history as Boris? If a female had as many (or any) illicit affairs resulting in pregnancies, and unplanned children, would she last as a politician? Or would society force her to step down?

Imagine if a female politician fell pregnant during an extra-marital affair. Continuing her duties whilst growing in pregnancy size. You can be sure as hell the media and public would center many stories around this and have damning views. Why is it any different for a male?

The sheer arrogance of the British prime minister and his refusal to even confirm how many children he has fathered is sickening.

Screw The Patriarchy

A man who is promiscuous is almost revered by other men. They are the envy of their friends. There is an old-school attitude of commending sexual conquests.

A female who is promiscuous is called a slut. She is regarded as a harlot. We may even oust her from her circle.

It’s time the world woke up and stopped judging adulterous males and females against separate parameters.

This is 2021, we shouldn’t need to shout about feminism. We should be able to assume we are all feminists. And those who don’t identify as a feminist have outdated views, don’t subscribe to equal rights and are feeding into the patriarchy. They are the problem!

The thing I find almost funny is a few months ago, as reported here, Boris Johnson tried to claim he is a feminist!

In Summary

Think what you will about Boris Johnson. But I can guarantee one thing. If he was a female, his philandering ways would have prevented him from becoming prime minister.
