100 Followers for Writers

While the scramble for followers has become the norm, we can all benefit from developing our own writers’ community.

I’m returning to Medium after a long break, and with a new focus — creative writing.

Over on Twitter, I follow a great many writers, not just from my own genre, and I’ve learned a lot from them. We share hashtags, promote each other’s work, and have regular ‘writers lift’ events where everyone tries to get more followers.

A rising tide lifts all boats, right?

Here, I’ve noticed recently that many writers want or need to achieve at least 100 followers to remain in the partner program. Or perhaps they just want to keep that option open for the future.

Let me say it clearly, then – I will always follow and support fellow writers. We have so much to learn from each other. My area is the creative writing of fantasy (I have published many LitRPG fantasy novels), but I’m also super interested in non-fiction and other types of fiction from mysteries to thrillers.

My goal here is to share useful creativity advice, and there is so much to learn from fellow authors.

So let me make a suggestion — if you feel the same way, and want to support the writing community, then drop a comment on this article, and let’s all follow each other. There is literally nothing to lose.
