10 Tips I’ve Used To Optimise My Workouts And Get In Great Shape

- Breathe during workouts (duh)
2. Drink a crap ton of water. Like 3 litres a day.
3. Visualise the muscle you are exercising. It’ll help you activate the muscle further leading to more muscle growth.
4. Control the negative. Probably the best advice I can give you for muscle growth is controlling the negative. What I mean by that is, when doing a bicep curl, when curling upwards, that is the positive part, and when moving the dumbbell downwards that’s the negative. By doing the negative part of an exercise slowly you’ll tear more muscle fibres leading to better growth.
5. Get 3 more reps in. I learnt that once you reach failure on an exercise, if you wait 10 seconds, you can get in about 3 more reps. Which may not seem like a lot but those extra reps can make all the difference.
6. Hold your last 2 reps. Whenever you’re doing an exercise, try to hold the last 2 reps for a bit longer. It’ll cause better muscle growth.
7. Pause at peak contraction. When contracting your muscles, pause a bit at peak contraction.
8. Drink a bit of black coffee before a workout. It’ll energise you.
9. Do cardio workouts on your rest days.
10. ELIMINATION DIET: I can’t be asked to do some scary diet. So I always keep it simple. I eliminate certain foods from my diet and whatever else I eat tends to keep me healthy. So here’s what to eliminate
- Junk food
- Sugary Drinks
- Ice-cream :(
- Processed-foods (as much as you can)
