10 Simple Ways to Show Your Partner You Love Them
Without having to tell them

Relationships aren’t always easy and going out of your way to show your partner you love them beyond saying those three words is crucial to maintaining a healthy relationship. Sometimes, couples get too comfortable, especially if they’ve been together a long time, and forget to express their love and appreciation for each other in ways other than saying “I love you”.
Actions speak louder than words and the more effort you put into these actions, the more you will see your relationship grow. Thankfully, there are many ways to show someone you care without having to tell them directly.
1. Ask them how they’re doing
And be specific. Ask them about how their meeting went today, or how their project that they started a few weeks ago is coming along. Show them that you care about what is going on in their life and that you listen to them when they tell you about themselves.
2. Let them know you’re thinking about them
There are multiple ways you can do this. Leave a love note on the fridge or hide one in their bag. Send them a text during the day to let them know they’re on your mind and to wish them a good rest of the day. Just letting someone know they’re on your mind can brighten their day, and it will make them think about you in return.
3. Give them a kiss first thing
Start the day by showing them that they’re the first thing you’re thinking of. If you live together, kiss them on the forehead before you get out of bed. If you are apart, send them a good morning text. When you see each other for the first time that day, hug them to let you know you missed them.
4. Buy something that makes you think of them
If you’re doing some shopping and see their favourite bag of chips or drink, why not pick it up? Again, this proves that they are on your mind and that you care about what they like and doing the little things to make them smile.
5. Make time for them
Make sure that you’re spending enough quality time together. If you find it’s been a while since you’ve done something with just two of you, plan a date night. This could be as simple as ordering in and watching a movie or going out on the town. Just make sure that the activity is something you both enjoy, although it shouldn’t really matter as long as you’re doing it together.
6. Thank them
Thank them for more than the big things. Thank them for taking out the trash, even though it’s their job. Thank them for cooking dinner, even if you did it the night before. Thank them for making you laugh when you were stressed. Thank them for just being them. Express your appreciation for them.
7. Give them your full attention
When they’re telling you a story or how their day was, give them your full undivided attention. Put your phone away and mute the TV. Let them know that you are 100% interested in what they have to say. Ask questions and give your opinion (when it’s wanted). Follow up in a couple of days to prove that you cared about what they were saying.
8. Make them breakfast
If you get up first, why not prepare breakfast every once in a while. This can be as simple as making them a cup of coffee if they enjoy having that first thing. Little surprises like this will make their day before it even begins.
9. Do things they want to do
Not everyone has the same interests, and I’m sure you often groan at the idea of doing the things your significant other wants you to do with them. You don’t have to do these things all of the time, but simply making an effort to do an activity they enjoy every once in a while will go a long way to proving how much you care about them and want to make them happy. Similarly, make sure you thank your partner when they do things that they don’t particularly enjoy doing for you.
10. Compliment them
Everyone enjoys a good compliment, and it means a lot coming from someone special to you. Compliment their hair or their outfit. Compliment their sense of humour or their strong work ethic. Let them know that you think they’re amazing.
