10 Simple Ways To Help You To Stay Mentally Stronger
The brain is a muscle we need to build to have a healthier mindset.

Life’s like a tug of war: Frustration and Tiredness.
Inevitable, we cannot escape emotion that can link to mental struggles. If untreated long term, it turns into depression. Our feelings are part of us. Some of us like to speak it out loud and share the rough day with friends, while some bottle up that feeling. Emotion helps us grow when we use it right.
It is our job to keep our mental health healthy. It is not someone else’s responsibility to keep us happy. Self-care is real. In contrast, there are many useful ways to stay mentally healthy like Yoga, gym exercising, meditating class, the paid ones.
I preferred free stuff. Let see what the 10 are.
1. Sing out loud in Shower
My favorite one. Singing in the Shower is fun. And it’s free.
Why?
The wall and ceramic tiles do not absorb sound, end up bouncing off the wall; hence it offers unique acoustic effects that make my voice sound remarkable. That is free karaoke, and I am not one with the sweetest vocal. I went pitch off here and there. “But heck, care is my stage. Hahaha.”
The technical side.
So, singing in the shower helps release dopamine, boosting creative juices to jumpstart my day. It helps to relax and perk up the spiritual side of me at the end of the day. Get rest and ready for another day tomorrow.
There are many benefits, too, to name a few:
- Maintain our heart health
- Reduces stress
- Boosts our immune system
- Fights depression
- Boosts our confidence
Self-care is important. Also, it provides relaxation and works out your core muscles that link to the other part of our body.
Try it. If you feel embarrassed, start with humming.
2. Walk straight and stand tall with your head held high and shoulders back
As a little kid, our parents correct us to sit straight and walk straight. Because posture matters.
Do you think someone that slouches, has bad posture would have a lot of confidence and good health? Bad posture endured physical pain in the long run. This culprit pulls you down.
Good posture, however, may exude confidence. You can tell a lot from someone’s behavior in their body posture. In research, body posture affects confidence in your thoughts.
When we round it all up, without practicing proper body posture, we’ll end up with all sorts of pains and strains that directly affect our mental health.
I make it a point to look out for my body. I hope you will too.
3. Cry if you need to
Human being likes to suppress tears.
If they cry, it is a sign of weakness or so. When we weep, it is not some form of showing weakness but strengthens your mind and being. It’s time to let it go and feels good about crying and enjoy its health benefits.
Crying takes me to a whole new level to love myself, release empathy, and learn to let go of the old things and awful experiences that haunt us.
At the same time, the creator made us this way. Well then, use the tears to cleanse our eyes and keep our health and well-being happy.
“Heaven knows we need never be ashamed of our tears, for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before — more sorry, more aware of my ingratitude, more gentle.”
― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
4. Clean up your room, declutter and sleep well
Inching ahead, clean room, clean mind.
A clean and tidy room is incredibly important and with many benefits.
Mental health is greatly affected by our surroundings. There is a relationship deeply knot between a clean room and sleep that reflects our mental health.
Likewise, messy, dirty rooms lead to poor sleep and a negative impact. Get rid of unwanted things. Start small and start to declutter items aren’t using anymore, send for recycling, or if it is useable, donate it.
Clutter maybe is unavoidable, but it welcomes dust mites and uninvited pests, and mold.
Start to improve your mental health, start to declutter your room to better sleep. Don’t buy things that we think might need later. There will be a less cluttered home.
5. Shift the attention away from yourself and be a giver
We are givers. If you’ve been feeling down and don’t know how to let go. Try to do something for someone. It can be your friend or volunteer in a nursing home or the needy or just community work. It helps take focus away from yourself.
A little kindness makes someone’s day.
6.Open up to someone, emotionally
Not everyone can easily talk it out. And a lot of time, it difficult. It is a skill we have to learn. Because no one is born with the talent of such — open up.
First, we need to understand why we don’t open up :
- Upbringing, we are not taught to express our feeling.
- Reluctance, we thought if we don’t bring it up, it will go away and bury underground.
- Blame, it is always other’s fault and not our’s
- Fear, we don’t know how to handle conflict phobia; someone is not happy.
- Low Self-Esteem, we think we should please others always and meet their expectation.
There could be many other reasons. Write them down, see what area is it that you don’t want to open up. Once we know our pain points, it is a lot easier to tackle the issue and understand what we want. Now is time to find a friend you trust most to chat it out and not bottle it up.
Write down all your emotional feeling that you want to share. Sometimes we could be in a conversation and not stick to the point and get drawn away. Do not get distracted, especially in a mobile feeding world. Keep that phone away.

7. Avoid alcohol, drugs, and smoking
Drugs and alcohol cause anxiety, depression, memory loss, and in some cases, death. We shouldn’t misuse them.
On the other hand, smoking creates an immediate sense, but that won’t last in the long run. It’ll become immune to the body, which doesn’t help release stress or comfort anymore, and a smoker now became a heavy smoker.
The negatives of alcohol and drugs have many side effects that can affect our thoughts, feelings, and actions that create mood changes, leading to aggression, anger, anxiousness, depression, and weakening our brains.
Take action to change your habit before it affects your daily life.
Good things happen when you became a non-smoker and cut down on alcohol. It a whole new experience. The air is different now. And it can save a lot of money. Alcohol, drugs, and nicotine are not the solution to any problem, but they are the root cause of all problems.
Alcohol, drugs, and nicotine are not the solution to any problem, but they are the root cause of all problems.
Keeping a clean and decisive mind is the key to clear up our messed up life.
8. Go for a walk regularly
I like to do my walking in the morning around the park, my estate. Occasionally, I’ll go hiking. And walking regularly, you’ll get healthier and fitter over time.
The freshness and the magic of nature are so refreshing. The more we receive goodness from the universe, the better we get. Walking is less hurtful to our bodies. All we need is a pair of good walking shoes that support our ankles.
Things I’ll bring with me. My mobile phone. (for emergency) I kept my phone away. I like what nature offers us and get connected and be inspired.
Life will show up to help us when we are less expect it.
9. Enjoy a good laugh
We need this. Laughing is the best antidote.
Besides, laughter is an excellent form of stress relief. With its long-term effect, it boosts the immune system, improves our mood, our sense of humor. Find a few friends, gather a small group, laugh it out if your think doing alone seems silly.
Laughing is fun and free. Watch a comedy. I felt like I’ve released myself from heavyweight on my shoulder, now lighter and be able to receive new challenges.
10. Finally, cut down on screen time and quit social feed
DO NOT COMPARE. Don’t give a shit about unfavorable opinions and spoiled your day, especially the negative ones. Everyone has a different journey. Ignore it. Move on. Read something useful that helps that can improve your life.
Suppose your work needs to connect with social feed. Keep it a point purely for work only.
Focus only on the good.
Conclusion
Self-care plays a crucial part in us. Don’t think yourself into a corner. You may be in a situation that you are stuck in. Perhaps your career, relationship, and business, but In the midst, change your mindset, well-being, and wellness.
Ultimately, we are only human beings with a soul that needs a body to house us in it. Train and learn to listen to the emotion. Do something different today.
Without a healthy body and mental health, where are you going to live?
