10 Signs You Will Never Make It In Life
Avoid this and you will do fine

Life is hard.
You wake up every day at 6 am, go to the gym, fast, meditate, or whatever your morning routine is. Then you go to work (or work from home), put up with whatever the day throws at you, and then go home to do all the chores that were neglected the previous day.
Then rinse and repeat… every… single… day… forever.
What happened to those dreams of traveling the world, fulfilling your mission, and leaving your mark in the world?
Crickets…
While you are too busy surviving, the clock keeps ticking and the more it ticks, the less time you have to do what you really want to do. This is a painful realization, that’s why it’s easier to ignore it and keep your mind occupied with ‘other stuff’.
But no matter how much you hide it under the carpet, it always creeps up to remind you that this is not the life you were meant to live.
Here are some signs that you are heading in the wrong direction.
1. You suffer from the middle-class mentality
Nowadays everyone considers themselves middle class, and that’s great, I guess. But there are qualities of the educated class that go against your best interest.
We are risk-averse, prefer to play safe, follow the rules (even when the game is rigged), trust the system, and get brainwashed by the news and social media.
Illegal immigrants have more chances of success than educated professionals, despite all the odds stacked against them.
Why is that?
Because the immigrant has nothing to lose.
If you have a decent place to live, an okay car, and some spare cash in the bank, you don’t want to risk your position for some lofty goal. So you keep grinding, hoping one day miraculously everything will be great, but without actually moving a finger to get you closer to your goal.
I’m middle class and I love it, but I’ve noticed that unless I question my deep held beliefs about how the world works, there is no hope to achieve my dreams and live a fulfilling life.
We’ve been educated to be a cog in the machine, to be a useful number and to keep our heads down. In return, we’ve been promised a comfortable life, a career path and an enjoyable retirement.
None of that has been delivered.
If you want a chance to improve your life, you have to get rid of the employee mentality you’ve been brainwashed with.
Either think like a poor person trying to escape poverty or act like the wealthy and invest and grow.
2. You hope everything will be alright… eventually
When you achieve that promotion, get married, have kids or whatever other condition is fulfilled, everything will be hunky dory.
It won’t.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”
Albert Einstein
If you keep doing the same thing, you can’t expect different results. You must do something radically different in order to move away from mediocrity.
Don’t fall into the denial trap, be brutally honest with yourself. Is this the life you’ve always dreamed about? Have you reached your full potential? Is this all there is?
If not, change it. Now.
3. You daydream a lot
All your escapist fantasies about living in the Caribbean or traveling the world are just that…fantasies.
In order to swallow the bitter pill of a below-par life, we escape to alternative realities where, if only for a moment, we can forget the troubles and the routine of our dreary lives.
If you find yourself daydreaming often, that’s a bad sign. Do something about it instead of taking your dreams to the grave.
4. You follow the news and have strong views about politics
News is the new porn. They get you addicted with a daily dose of fear so come back for more the next day. Fear is paralyzing and removes any chance of a better life.
Politics are about the same. If you are hoping your life will get better when your team wins, I’ve got news for you.
It won’t.
You can safely ignore the news and politics and live happily ever after. If you waste your time, energy and let them brainwash you, there is no hope of you doing something with your life.
Do you think Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, or Bill Gates spent hours every day watching the news or discussing politics? Me neither.
5. You often say: ’It’s not that bad’
Conformism is the grave where all dreams go to die. By trying to convince yourself that others have it worse than you, you are doing nothing but going deeper into denial.
Yes, 1 billion people live in worse conditions than you. But that’s not the point. The question you should be asking is: ‘Am I fulfilling my potential?’
If you buy a Ferrari and only use it to do errands, you are wasting an amazing car. Well, I don’t know about you but I’m sure you are that Ferrari and you should be racing on the track against those Lambos instead of being kept unused in the garage.
You are a unique person with unique talents. Find your mission and follow it all the way through. Don’t let fear stop you. Don’t let comfort trap you. And don’t try to convince yourself that it’s ok when it’s clearly not.
6. You think it’s already too late
Whether you are 25 or 75 you probably have regrets about the past. All those opportunities you missed keep coming back to haunt you. If only you could go back in time…
But now is too late… or is it?
When is officially too late? Is it at 35, 47, 56, 100?
It is too late when you die, any time before that, it’s early.
My son (18) said to me the other day that he thinks he’s too old to become a programmer and he wishes he had started at 12.
Really?
I’m learning to code and I’m 50 and will keep learning stuff and mastering it until the day I die at the ripe age of 97 (unless singularity comes to the rescue)
IT IS NEVER TOO F****NG LATE
Imprint that in your forehead because it is true.
Saying it’s too late is just an excuse to avoid doing the work and taking risks. Don’t listen to your lazy mind, when you want to do something, just do it now.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time it’s now.
7. You numb yourself daily
In order to get through the day, you use crutches, painkillers, alcohol, tobacco, junk food, etc. That’s a sign that something is not quite right.
Find the root cause of the problem instead of using band-aids to mask the symptoms.
One thing is to enjoy a glass of wine every now and again, and a different thing is to be desperate to grab the bottle every night in order to numb your mind.
Be happy, then you won’t need any of that.
8. Buying lottery
Your life is shit but one day you’ll win the lottery and you’ll finally escape mediocrity.
If that’s the solution to your problems, I’ve got news for you, but you are not going to like it.
Stop deluding yourself. You’ll never win the lottery. Do whatever you want to do by any other means, the possibilities are endless. Don’t rest your hope in extremely low odd events.
9. You engage in endless entertainment
Same as with the drugs. If you keep your mind occupied with social media, Netflix and candy crush, you won’t have to examine your life and confront yourself about how you are wasting your time.
Most people say they are too busy to learn a language, start a side hustle or write a book. Yet, on average we spend 4 hours a day watching Netflix.
You don’t have to become a productivity robot or achieve your goals before you are 25 but, if there is something you want to do in life, you must dedicate it at least 1–2 hours a day, even if that means reducing your daily dopamine fixes.
10. You love comfort
Being comfortable is nice, I get it, but if you want to grow, you have to be prepared to endure some pain.
No muscle grows by laying on the sofa and eating Doritos. You have to go to the gym and pump iron even if that means being uncomfortable.
If you are not prepared to pay the price, your life would be a shambles of what it could have been. Doing the hard work is always necessary and even fun. Nothing beats the satisfaction of a job well done.
You are not here to be comfortable, you are here to struggle. You can still enjoy your life because nothing gives more satisfaction than having done your best.
The worst thing that can happen to anybody is to get everything they wish for easily. You don’t have to fight now in order to enjoy later, fighting is the destination.
Comfort is the fastest way to unhappiness, realizing this, it’s liberating.
Conclusion
Most people don’t fulfill their dreams, don’t pursue their missions in life and don’t realize their potential.
The default mode for humans is failure. Unless you wake up from your torpor and change courses you are destined to carry on living an unfulfilling life in the mediocrity lane.
If you display any of the signs mentioned above perhaps it’s time to sit down and have a hard think about your values. If you are not happy, you might as well try something different and see what happens. What do you have to lose? Comfort?
Whatever you’ve been led to believe about life it’s not true. It’s time you find what it’s true for you and then put all your eggs in that basket until it gets you to your ideal destination.
Don’t let fear, shame, comfort or self-doubt stop you. You’ve got what it takes, you’ve always had it. Don’t go to the grave without having played your symphony. The world needs to hear from you. I need to hear from you. Don’t keep us waiting any longer.
