10 Reasons Why You Should Regularly Blog on Your Small Biz Website.
Do you have your own website?
Are you blogging on a regular basis?
Here are 10 reasons why posting on a regular basis helps to grow and promote your small biz!
1. Search Engine Optimisation
The more frequently you blog and add new content to your site, the more you strengthen your SEO. This helps your site to be indexed higher by search engines, therefore means you are more likely to be noticed and found by potential clients.
2. Creativity
I don’t know about you, but whenever I am writing a post I find at least 3 more ideas pop into my head.
Creativity breeds creativity.
So it makes sense that the more you blog, the more ideas you come up with. Which means you will never run out of compelling content ideas!
Plus…you can repurpose all those amazing content ideas into social media posts, videos, podcasts, infographics, content upgrades and so much more!
3. Traffic
Generating content and regular blog posts attracts traffic to your page.
The more traffic you have visiting your page the more leads and opportunities to turn readers into customers!
And that is, after all, the whole point of putting in all this time and effort to building the content of your website! To attract potential customers, grow your business and make some money.
4. Community
Blogging, and sharing those posts on social media, helps to build a community around your small biz.
Your amazing blog posts provide value, insights, information, hacks, advice, tutorials and so much more for your ideal customers. They will like, share and comment on your content and you, of course, will reply! Right?!
This fosters an amazing community. A tribe of people who LOVE your small biz and will want to continue buying your product or service!
5. Presence
By blogging regularly you build a solid online presence. You can regular create Facebook posts, Tweets, Instagram pictures, Pins or add content to LinkedIn which all help to build and promote your business.
All without spending money on marketing or advertising! That’s a win in my book.
This is what is known as content marketing, and is one of the BEST tools for busy small biz owners and boss mums.
6. Motivation
The more you write and see the results, the more motivated you become. This well help you produce even more content and therefore drive traffic and potential customers to your website.
Motivation can be so hard to find and maintain, but I personally find the more you write and post, the easier it is.
7. Google loves pages that are updated regularly
One of the biggest factors Google takes into account when ranking websites, is fresh content.
So it makes sense that by regularly blogging and updating content you rank higher on Google searches. Once again, this helps your business and website be noticed and can attract potential customers.
8. Keep your readers coming back
Think about it like your favourite magazine, newspaper or online publication. You buy or subscribe to it because you enjoyed it, and wish to keep reading it.
However, if that particularly publication comes out on a spasmodic basis then you are likely to get frustrated and cancel your subscription, or forget all about it. You don’t want to do this with your website and blog.
By posting on a regular basis you will be sure to keep your readers interested and coming back for more.
9. Build your portfolio
** This one is for the freelance writers and content creators out there **
If you don’t have any published works or articles to show on a portfolio, then your blog acts like one for you.
By blogging regularly you build up your portfolio and provide examples to demonstrate your expertise and writing style to potential clients. The more content you have, the better your “portfolio” looks.
10. Monetary opportunities.
I am sure by now you have all heard the saying “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”?
Well, blogging can provide another stream of income!
There are many different ways you can turn your blog into a money making venture. After all, isn’t the point of all this hard effort to make some money?
- One way is to combine several of your posts that address a specific topic into an eBook and sell it.
- Or you could try using your blogs and expertise to create an online course to sell to interested people.
- If you have a large audience who read your blog you may think about creating a separate membership area, where people pay for exclusive content.
- Once you have a solid following you can also monetize your blog through affiliate marketing.
- Or, you can try Google AdSense (or other alternatives) where ads are placed on your blog or website and each time someone clicks through you earn a certain amount of money.
So, will you now blog on a regular basis? Why, or why not? I would love to hear your opinions and experiences.
