Let’s get to know each other better!

I am one that definitely enjoys partaking in writing prompts and challenges. I feel like they offer a great sense of connection and a way to help build ties here in the Medium community.

I really enjoy getting to know each of you through your writing and the prompts that you participate in. I also enjoy breaking out of the norm for a bit and doing some fun writing outside of my usual self-growth topics.

Linda Ng created a great writing prompt in which she asks 10 questions and gives 10 answers. It was great getting to know her more! You can see her answers below:

Let’s Get to It!

Here are the questions that I was asked and my responses. I hope that you enjoy it!

Questions

1. What is your favorite drink? I love milk. It is refreshing and I love the taste. Milk can be used to make so many other drinks as well, like chocolate milk, hot cocoa, protein shakes, tea, and coffee for example.
2. What is your favorite color? My favorite color has always been purple! I have adored this color since I was a little girl, and it is still my absolute favorite today. I made my profile icon here purple, it brings me much happiness and I find the color to be so beautiful.
3. If you were to win the lottery, what are the top three things that you would do first? First of all, I hope that this actually does come true…don’t we all! I would first give money to my family so that they would never have to pay another bill and they could get anything that they desire. Second, I would buy myself a 4-bedroom house with a fenced-in backyard. Lastly, I would like to give back some to my local community because I have been helped greatly when I truly needed it. After these three things, I would put the rest of the money in the bank!
4. What is your favorite cuisine? I enjoy many different cuisines. I love variety when it comes to food. I eat a large variety of foods and I love spice and flavor! Some of my favorites are American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and Indian.
5. Would you give up your phone or social media forever? I wouldn’t want to give up either because I enjoy the connection, but as long as Medium didn’t count as social media, then I would choose to get rid of that because I adore my phone! I only have Instagram and Twitter. Medium has to stay though; this platform means everything to me!
6. What is one thing that you are really good at? I have always been told that I am really good at reading other people. I can sometimes just look at an individual and I can tell how they are feeling. Loved ones are often surprised when I tell them that I sense something is going on with them without them speaking a word. I am very keen on non-verbal observations.
7. Do you love dogs or cats more? I love both and I adore all animals, I think they are all wonderful creatures that make life more beautiful. I have never had a dog, but I had a lot of cats before I became allergic to them! I would have to say that I am more of a cat person.
8. Are you a coffee drinker? Yes! I have to drink decaf now. Some of you may have seen my recent story on the effects that caffeine had on me. I love the taste of coffee and the wide variety of flavors. Pair this with a delicious, flavored creamer and…Heaven!
9. What languages can you speak? I am of course fluent in English, I can read, write, and speak Spanish, but I am nowhere near fluent. I adore the beauty of this language, however. I also know American Sign Language, but I have lost a lot of it over the years. Spanish and ASL have come in handy many times in my life!
10. Can you use chopsticks? Yes, after much practice I can use them! I am not great at it, but I can eat a meal using them. It was fun to learn and makes the food experience even more enjoyable.
