10 Questions To Discover The Life You Want to Live
Another fun and therapeutic writing challenge
In answering these questions, a clear theme emerged for me.
I discovered the kind of life that I want to live.
J.M. Troppello created these questions. The questions invite you to reminisce about your favorite memories, look forward to your future goals, think about how you like to spend your days, and discover what you value about your loved ones.
10 Questions That I’d Like To Ask And Answer
1. What’s one of your most cherished childhood memories?
During every beautifully sunny summer, I’d share a room with my cousin and we’d hang out without a worry in the world. At our seemingly endless slumber party, we’d whisper about our crushes, do each other’s hair, play games, watch The Wizard of Oz and Babes in Toyland over and over, wait for our favorite songs to air on the radio, and order pizza delivery. Little beats those summers.
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?
Japan is on my bucket list. The kind, family-oriented, and community-centric culture appeals to me. Their technological advances intrigue me. I love Japanese food, especially sashimi and green tea. I enjoy walking through Japanese tea gardens and temples. I hope to visit Japan in the near future.
3. What’s a book or movie that had a profound impact on your life?
Bill Perkins’ Die With Zero inspires me to invest in experiences, memories, and happiness with the people I love. It reminds me to intentionally decide the right time to do things and to give to others.
“I want you to plan for your future — but never in such a way that you forget to enjoy the present.” — Bill Perkins

4. Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies that people might not know about?
I’m kinda creative with Canva and make personal finance Instagram posts. I started my page as a hobby 6 months ago and now have 3.4K followers and 142 posts. An Instagram personal finance creator introduced me to Medium so I am grateful to have started my hobby and found my way here.
5. What’s your favorite way to spend a lazy Sunday?
Relaxing with loved ones, maybe at a warm sunny picnic or at home. A midday nap would be perfect.
6. If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?
As an introvert, I prefer to stay away from having awkward dinners with people I don’t know. But if I weren’t an introvert and had to pick a historical figure, I would choose… nope. I’m using my skip card. No awkward dinners for me.
7. What’s a goal or dream you’ve always had but haven’t pursued yet?
Monetizing my online ventures such as Instagram or Medium is a goal I recently reached, so I suppose it’s time for me to make new goals or expand on this one. My long-term goal, which I’m currently pursuing, is to become work optional, build generational wealth, and give generously to those in need.

8. What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I’ve been to the top of a tower of a famous bridge in the United States. I won’t name which one but the towers are not open to the public and have no safety nets or safety railing once you’re up there.
9. Can you describe a moment that changed your perspective on life?
A few years ago I lost my 40-year-old work partner and friend to stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Before she died she told me, “It’s just life.” At that point, I realized that each person’s life is a unique length of time and that I have to be fine with whatever length my life will be. I try to enjoy every day mindfully and happily.
10. What qualities do you value most in your closest friends or family members?
Honesty, loyalty, kindness, generosity, and integrity.
Thank you for spending your time, hopefully 30 seconds or more, reading my story! I am grateful for your comments, highlights, claps, and engagement. Wishing you the best day ever!
