10+ Mobile App Ideas for Your Next Side Hustle
Fresh mobile app ideas sourced directly from my personal Google Keep notes.

You will be wondering why to create another mobile app while there are 2.8 million mobile apps out there in the market.
People are more and more dependent on their smartphones. There are 4.88 billion global internet users worldwide, spending 6 hours and 58 minutes daily using the internet. As long as you have done enough research on the target market and the competitor, there is still plenty of opportunity for new mobile apps.
These mobile app ideas are directly retrieved from my Google Keep. I have picked some of the interesting ones to share with you.
1) Karaoke assistance
In Asia, we like to do karaoke. We always have difficulties finding songs that we can sing comfortably. The app shall include features like labeling the difficulties of the song, the highest and lowest pitch.

After that, the app will need to calibrate the users’ vocal range and help them find the song suitable for their pitch range. With the assistance of this app, the user will never pick a song they can’t sing.
2) Artificial intelligent content generator
This app might be helpful while we are creating social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and we don’t know what to write. Provide some introduction text and description to the app and shall generate related captions and sentences.
Another application area might be a birthday wish or a congratulation message; an AI content generator might help enhance the elaboration of your wishes. It shouldn’t be an issue since you are in charge of your text, and you definitely will read them first before hitting the publish or send button.
3) Motivational voice pool
Sometimes it is hard to keep hustling in life, and we need some motivation either from ourselves or others. This motivational voice pool lets the users upload short voice clips of motivation, for example, “I believe you are the best and you can do it”!
You can either contribute to the motivational voice pool or listen to the motivational voices from others like you.
4) Vibration beat game
Almost every game in the world needs your visual and auditory attention to play. What if sometimes you just want to use your kinesthetic to play?
Like O2jam, but no music. Just vibration and some optional graphics. The game will need you to tap the screen following the same rhythm as the vibration beats in each level.
5) Marriage manager
Excel sheets. If we think of managing a marriage event, we can’t move away from an Excel sheet.
The idea of the marriage manager app includes features like:
- Manage invitations and send out invitation cards.
- Arrange guest seating and assist guests in finding their seats on the event day.
- Plan and broadcast event itinerary to all guests. Highlight the current slot that is ongoing.
- Event-based social media, so both host and guests can share their lovely pictures and comment on the event day.
- Plan and share food menu. Highlight the current food that is served.
- The guest can submit any request to the host.
- Perhaps submit a song request to the performer of the day?
6) Learn swearing language
You know what, one of the easiest ways to learn a new language is by learning its swear words. An app to read out loud and elaborate the swearing words will be pretty fun.
An additional feature to let user drop their style of reading the swear word in the “dictionary” could be extra fun.
7) Classic social media platforms like MIRC
Do you remember MIRC, the internet relay chat application? As I remember, the network is public, and the user can join any of the channels. There are channel admin, co-admin, and VIPs. A place to chat with friends and also meet some new friends (strangers).

People in the same town can join the channels to get to know new friends. Not sure if I am old or the app is good, I felt that I knew a lot of new friends from that platform itself.
8) Watermark or cross your document
Do you know it is dangerous to send your identification document without a watermark? Do you find it often that you need to use photoshop to watermark your essential documents like passport and identification card?
This app will help users watermark the important document and export it as JPG, PNG, or PDF format. Now users can watermark any important document on the go.

Note: There are different watermark standards in every country.
9) Investor diary
Stock investment is one of the necessary investment vehicles for financial freedom. The idea is to create an app to keep track of user investment or trading history. For example, the time, date, drawing of chart, emotion description at the point of time.
With accumulated experiences recorded in this trading diary app, traders and investors can refer to it and improve their performance.
10) Laundry cloth identifier
A big family with maids often has problems recognizing the clothes, especially when many same-gender and similar age range family members are in the house. It is hard to determine which clothes belong to who. With advanced AI technology platforms like TensorFlow, image recognition in the mobile app could help the maids with this matter.
The idea is to create an app to distinguish the clothes in a house for homemakers, maids, or whoever does the laundry.
11) What to cook with the current ingredient
If you are living with your parents, most probably you will need to prepare your food. I always ran out of ideas about what to prepare. With the currently available ingredient in the fridge, I sometimes find it hard to think of something I can make out of the ingredients.
An app like this could help by entering the ingredients into the app, and the app will tell me which type of food I can prepare with those ingredients. It might sort the most suitable food by the number of ingredients matched.
