10 Insanely Simple Ideas From Gary Vee That’ll Question Your Sanity

Most times, simple is the better way to go with things.

“Almost at all times, the solution to our problems is always simple. We are just naturally tuned to believing that they are hard”— Author

It’s just like in an objective question. The answer is always in the options. You are just always assuming it’s hard.

Worse, in most cases, you would have chosen the right answer, but your mind will make you believe that it should be far harder than that.

Sadly, this has pushed so many people into unintended failures and hardships in life and has made most motivators record more happiness than sadness.

They always utilize simple solutions. That is also the way of Gary Vaynerchuk.

If you don’t know who Gary Vee is, it’s usually for two reasons;

  1. You have been living under a rock all this while.
  2. You haven’t yet started using YouTube properly.

Watch some of his videos. Then think deeply if you have ever met or seen someone as blunt and straightforward as he is.

Most of his theories about living life through finances and behavior are just as simple and mind-boggling as possible.

See for yourself….Here are ten of his insanely simple ideas.

#1 — Calm the F**k down

No matter what stage of life you are in, embrace the habit of taking a breather. Either you are in the worst possible situation, or you are planning to start the most successful company the world will ever see.

Garry advises that you first calm down. Just slow it down.

Don’t get too excited, and don’t embrace negative energy. Just take a deep breath and see things out. It all makes now that I am even writing this article.

Just calm down!

#2 — Be grateful

This too!

Recently, I have seen many articles about giving thanks for what you have and celebrating your small wins.

It is a simple idea that has always been there, but you have ignored it for far too long.

Always do your best to be grateful for what you have. And not because someone has it worse, but because you are happy you even have something at all.

#3 — Differentiate what you want from what you need

Another simple fact. I’m sure this one has scared a thousand people off the hook of their pursuit in life.

Confusion! Confusion! Confusion!

That’s probably why you haven’t achieved your goals. Look at yourself well and decide if what you have been pursuing is really what you need.

The difference;

What do you want?… Your aspirations and unreal thoughts — You want a best seller when you have never written a word for the general public in your life.

What do you need?… Your real thoughts and honest requirements — Get a writing course first, even when you still want to start earning from writing on your first day.

#4 — 30% Planning and 70% More Action

As Gary would say, “Fucking try it now.”

It only makes sense that you at least try everything you can after your elongated planning.

Too much planning and less action is a great mistake. One that has stopped a lot from really achieving their full potential. Hence, cultivate the habit of 30% planning and more action.

#5 — Don’t oversell yourself

Not overselling yourself can mean different things — It can be easily confused with not being proud of oneself. Meanwhile, they are very different.

Not overselling yourself just means being quiet in certain situations and not giving out all your mental bullets.

Keep some in the arsenal so that when you do let them out, you are valued higher than when you have already given out all your qualities.

Even in interviews, sell yourself. But do not oversell yourself.

#6 — Be okay with not being perfect

Psych!

Even Gary Vee himself is not perfect. It’s another simple thought everyone has, but when the awful stuff happens. You wash in shame and feel regretful or pitiful.

Meanwhile, you have forgotten that no one is perfect. Every single person you know has a loophole to fill.

They are only just bigger or smaller than yours.

#7 — Realize that resources are everywhere

Yes! They are everywhere.

Even if your main aim is to build the world’s most revolutionary tech and you do not have the finances for it.

There are still countless resources you can use, like the human resource you have and network resources.

It makes sense, and it’s simple. Do not limit yourself to the thought that there are no resources anywhere.

There are resources everywhere. You haven’t just looked well enough.

#8 — Create, distribute and facilitate

A simple formula for success.

Whatever it is you are doing, you have to create or build it. You also have to sell it to people, and lastly, you also have to redo that whole process again.

Create, distribute and facilitate whatever you do every single time, and someday it will all amount to success.

You might not know it now because it sounds too simple to be true.

But Tim denning has gotten most of his success from creating, distributing, and facilitating words. It’s the same with Gary Vee.

#9 — Even when you see the finish line, don’t stop

Like the lost ships in the Atlantic, some people have had their dreams crumbled in the excitement of seeing the finish line.

That moment when you feel you are almost successful.

Yeah! That time when you have your first 10k dollars from freelancing or your first recognition by the general public.

That is the time when you should be more hungry for success.

You haven’t achieved exactly what you want, right? So why stop now.

It’s a simple yet unthinkable idea.

#10 — Build the ability to start over

I intentionally made this the last idea. That is because we only plan and put actions to play. But what if it fails. What happens then?

Do you stop and just give up?… No!

You have to keep going. Even worse, you can start all over again. Crawl the same walls again, and even if you do not win again.

You would have learned something that might be a reason why you will be successful the next time.

Every endeavor could crumble at any time. Hence embrace Gary Vee’s simple idea, and learn to re-start again.

It might be hard, but it’ll be worth it.
