Opinions

  • The article conveys a strong sense of patriotism and defiance among Ukrainians, particularly in the face of predictions that Kyiv would fall quickly.
  • There is a clear criticism of Russia's actions, labeling them as an unprovoked act of aggression and comparing them to historical fascist regimes.
  • The author expresses frustration with NATO's inaction in implementing a no-fly zone, which is seen as essential to protecting civilians from constant bombings.
  • The content suggests that Western sanctions, while significant, are not sufficient to deter Putin or alleviate the immediate suffering of the Ukrainian people.
  • The piece reflects a sense of betrayal or abandonment by the international community, calling for more decisive action to support Ukraine's fight for democracy and freedom.
  • There is an appeal to the moral responsibility of the global community to intervene and provide aid, with a direct call to action for readers to donate and spread awareness.
  • The author criticizes Russian propaganda for misrepresenting the war and suppressing freedom of speech within Russia, drawing parallels with Orwellian dystopia.
  • The narrative portrays the Ukrainian resistance as a fight not only for their nation but also as a defense of European democratic values against authoritarian aggression.

10 Days of War in Ukraine. What Was Going On?

The main events of Russian aggression during the last 10 days

Russia invaded Ukraine.

Thousands of people are killed.

This is how it all happened.

Day 1

  • at 4 AM, without declaring war, Russian troops invade Ukraine (hmmm, what other fascist nation did the same?)
  • Russian forces attack Ukrainian borders from 6 main directions
  • most border guards on these directions are killed, others — retreated
  • columns of thousands of tanks enter the Ukrainian lands
  • thousands of refugees move to the borders with the EU
  • all major cities of Ukraine are bombed with missiles
  • the first victims of the senseless war — both civil Ukrainians and soldiers are killed by missiles and Russian soldiers

Day 2

  • Washington analytics prognoses that capital — Kyiv will be lost in 48 hours (SPOILER: Kiyv is still Ukrainian)
  • mobilization to the Ukrainian army begins. The first wave of people with war experience is about 400,000 people
  • Russia’s tank columns move towards the biggest cities near the border: Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kherson, Melitopol, Kiyv
  • the main target is the capital — Kiyv
  • Ukrainian army starts to fight back. First losses in the army of invaders
  • Ukrainian border guards from Zmiiny Island respond to the Russian ship’s offer to surrender — “Russian ship, go fuck yourself!” They die heroically in battle. Become a myth that unites the nation
  • Ukrainian cities are still bombed (SPOILER: it didn’t change. We need closed sky support from NATO)

Day 3

  • the initial shock is over — the Ukrainian nation unites as never before
  • millions of $ are donated to the army by citizens of Ukraine and people all around the globe. Thank you!
  • invasion plan fails. Russia planned to conquer Ukraine’s capital in 3 days. It didn’t happen!
  • there are fights all over the territory of Ukraine:
  • Russian helicopters and planes force civil people to leave in the shelters
  • enemy's paratroopers land in the main cities, there are street fights all over the country
  • the hottest spots are in the East of the country, where armored vehicles are fighting. The main army forces are there
  • Ukrainian cities are still bombed. Civil people are dying (SPOILER: it didn’t change. We need closed sky support from NATO)

Day 4

  • people in all Ukraine organize into the Local Territory Defence forces. They start to prepare cities for the war. Block-posts on all entrances, food and water supplies in the shelters, patrolling city against enemy’s spies.
  • about the spies. Russian saboteurs in Ukraine do crazy shit from the day-1. They sabotage defense, create panic, agitate for the enemy, even burn churches and draw swastikas there.
  • the world is shocked by the resistance of the Ukrainian nation
  • EU and USA apply the first real sanctions to Russia (still not to Putin)
  • most EU countries close their own sky for Russian planes. That’s sweet, but still, Ukrainian cities are bombed. Civil people are dying. (NATO does nothing about it)

Day 5

  • it becomes clear that Ukraine is not going to lose quickly this war
  • the situation is hard, people are dying, fights are going on. But Ukrainian forces didn’t lose any of the crucial cities. Kyiv is still Ukrainian
  • civil people do unreal things:
  • there are videos of people that stop tanks with their bodies
  • a group of local hunters manages to surround and capture a group of Russian soldiers
  • in all lost towns, there are peaceful meetings against Russia.
  • more sanctions from the West to Russia. Its economics is dying. But Putin doesn’t really care, why should he?
  • The USA closes its own sky for Russian planes. That’s sweet, but still, Ukrainian cities are bombed. Civil people are dying. (NATO does nothing)

Day 6

  • most world companies stop working in Russia. They don’t want to support the war and death
  • Russian propaganda tells lies about the war. They call it a small “special operation”. They tell no truth about losses. They don’t even call it a war.
  • cyberwar is going on in parallel. Ukrainian IT field and students coordinate attacks on Russian government websites.
  • Also, they are trying to uncover lies for the Russian people. Most people there don’t know the truth about the war and losses.
  • There were several rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Completely useless. Positions of sides are too different.
  • Ukrainian cities are bombed. Civil people are dying.

Day 7

  • the situation on the front line is stable. Ukrainian forces still keep all big cities near the border
  • war isn’t going to be a blitzkrieg. It will last for months
  • losses of the invader’s army are similar to Afghanistan or Siria
  • Moscow exchange is frozen for a week already, no more real economics in Russia (hello North Corea scenario)
  • people of Ukraine and the world donate money. Thank you!
  • invaders can’t win quickly. It’s clear to everyone now. They change tactics. Now they destroy cities. They kill civil people, that can’t protect themselves. Genocide is happening again…
  • The terrible bombing of Kharkiv, shotting of civil people in Volnovaha, Melitopol, and Energodar. Thousand of deaths…

Day 8

  • official data:
  • more than 10,000 people are killed during the war
  • more than 500,000 Ukrainians returned to Ukraine from abroad to protect Fatherland
  • Ukraine is still alive and fighting for the freedom of its own nation and for the whole world
  • Ukraine is the fort post of world democracy. If we fail, Europe will be the next victim of Russian aggression
  • this war is a rare case when everything is black and white. It is clear where the good forces of the world are suffering and in need of support. And where is the empire of lie that wants to kill.

Day 9

  • the situation on the front line is stable. Ukrainian forces still keep all big cities near the border. There are losses on both sides
  • all cities in western Ukraine accept refugees from the eastern part
  • we understand that war will be long and tough
  • we are ready to pay the high price to live in the free country
  • meanwhile in the Empire of Lie — Russia:
  • completely blocked Facebook, Twitter, Youtube (freedom of speech? what is freedom of speech?)
  • closed borders and almost no legal ability to leave the country
  • accepted new laws about “war fakes” (they call the real information this way in propaganda)
  • Now if somebody in Russia calls war — “war” it results in 15 years of prison. What a wonderful country to live in?
  • do they miss anything from Orwell’s pack?

Day 10

  • today
  • will Ukraine ever surrender? — No!
  • are Ukrainian people are dying now to stop invasion into Europe? — Yes! To protect our homes and other people from death.
  • do we complain? — No! But we desperately need the support of the world. Please do what you can:
  • donate money
  • go to the meetings
  • share the real information around the globe
  • you can do the change
  • you can save lives!
  • will we win this war? — Yes! But only with the help of the world!
