1 sperm + 1 egg = 3 humans; plus 14 Original & Unusual “What if” questions
Absurd philosophical musings for 4 o’clock in the morning.

“What if?” questions are at the core of every science fiction novel ever written. They take us on a journey through multiple alternate universes, some perhaps even through our own universe, asking us to imagine the possibilities.
Below you will find 14 “What if?” questions my disturbed mind came up with late last night at 4 o’clock in the morning. (Was it last night or this morning?)
As far as I know, they are all original, except as noted for #6 and #8, where I reference the source of inspiration.
1 -What if your spouse became the ultimate Mind Control master?
What if he/she made you enjoy doing something you found horribly distasteful? What would you think between moments of conflicted terrorizing bliss?
Would you leave an otherwise healthy relationship to be “your true self” or would you stay where you are comfortable and happy, but knowing deep down that you are betraying who you truly are?
2- What if an evil alien Artificial Intelligence already runs the world
and its agenda has been to spread ignorance, division and violence among humans, while encouraging us to deplete the planet’s resources while setting human civilization on a collision course with collapse thereby thwarting any attempts we make to colonize the stars?
3- What if the Devil wanted a vacation and asked you to replace him
during his absence? Would you accept? What if after you take the deal you discover that he lied and plans on never returning? Does that make you the Devil?
4- What if we all switched bodies every night?
Suppose the body holds our memories and our souls jumped around from body to body all our lives to experience life as everyone? We would never know.
If you knew that to be true, how would it influence your opinion on the death penalty?
5 Have you ever tried to return from a dream with an object?
What if one day you succeeded?
6- What if the tunnel of light people see when they die is really a soul-sucking machine
put there by a hyper-advanced alien civilization? Its purpose is to trap our souls and force us to reincarnate into eternal slavery? Will you “go to the light” now when you die, or will you hesitate?
7- What if God appeared to us all and told us that he wants us to be atheists?
8- What if our universe is alone moving through time in the forward direction as we know it?
What if, what we think of as normal time is really time flowing backwards, according to the rest of the intelligent universes, and we are the odd-ball that’s out of sync? What if this is why we haven’t found any alien civilizations yet?
9- What if all life starts as soul seeds and progresses over billions of years
from bacteria to plants, insects, to animals, to humans, and finally into Gods, each of us creating our own universes? How would that change your perspective on life? Is this concept more in line with Hindu or Mormon thinking? Is it possible to be a Mormon Hindu?
10- What if you were revered as a God in your past life,
die to discover you are not a God, and get reincarnated with full memory? Would you tell those who made a religion out of your Godhood or would you let them continue to worship you, a false God?
11- What if every time we discover a new fact about the nature of the universe,
the nature of the universe changes to keep one step ahead of us?
12- Scientists have pointed out that the human brain and the universe look uncannily similar to each other.
What if the Universe as we perceive it is just a mass hallucination,
an external projection of the human brain?
13- What if when you die, you discover that the real true God is something totally unexpected
like a crab, a fishing pole, or a potted houseplant? What if its name is Maurice?
14- What if God’s ultimate secret power (and weakness) really was “the word”
What if he was killed by Fredrick Nietzsche when Nietzsche wrote the words, “God is dead.” And, as per tradition, the Godslayer became the new God and Nietzsche now sits on God’s throne? What do you think would kill Nietzsche?

Thank you for reading. I hope that my questions activated a dormant section of your brain which ignites within you a flash of brilliance enabling you to tackle a problem that you previously felt unable to overcome.
