1,000 views in 30 Days: Medium Milestone Achieved

Thanks, everyone!

A few months ago, I had never heard of Medium.

Well, I did in a way.

I had read numerous listed articles from Medium that Google was suggesting to me from my searches. But I never put much thought into it.

I don’t remember why exactly, but I was wondering about where could I post my writing so that people would read it.

I’ve been journaling since I was 13. Writing in English since I was 26. I had a Blog for a while, but I felt like nobody was reading it, so I stopped updating it.

I needed a venue for my non-technical writing. A venue for my posts. A better social media experience where I could connect with like-minded people.

So it was a matter of time before I found out about this platform.

At first, I was a bit unsure about what Medium was about. So I published a handful of articles and stopped as soon as I started my new job.

My emotional bandwidth was fully occupied with getting used to a new schedule and learning tons of new stuff.

All while taking care of two toddlers, and dealing with the guilt of leaving my previous career as an academic.

But then things calmed down. And about a month ago, I felt that itch again. So I gave it another go.

After a few weeks of playing around, I made a promise to myself to try to publish something every day.

Don’t try to be perfect Silvia. People want relatability, not perfection. Write what comes out of your heart. Show people how vulnerable you are, but also how much you are willing to fight to achieve your goals.

And a month later I can say… I hit the 1,000 views in 30 days milestone!!! Tell me this isn’t a dream y’all!

Take home message?

We all have something to say and thoughts to express. Write your soul out, hit that publish button, and don’t be afraid to become vulnerable to the public eye.

I’m learning so much from you amazing writers, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!

Did you enjoy my story? Follow me and consider subscribing to my publications so you don’t miss any of my quirks!

I’m always happy if you want to cover my next Fair Trade Match Latte.

I’ll use a reusable cup, I promise!
