0x3 What’s DAppening?

If you didn’t know, What’s DAppening is intended to keep you informed about what the Giveth DApp team is up to: these updates include progress, milestones and even challenges that arise. We will try to keep it as fun and functional as possible!
April 25th — May 1st
The strong push for EDCON has allowed us to focus on fixing issues in the DApp that have been present for some time. The majority of which were visual as well as functional, this was possible in large part due to our awesome contributors. Below is an outline of the issues we’ve resolved:
GitHub Update
- Images are now able to be saved in the DAC/Campaign/Milestone description, where as before they would fail to upload after submitting. PR #301
- We are React 16.3.x compatible (PR #307) and we started rewriting the DApp using the new Context API. PR #323
- You can now access the manage pages such as user wallet and the user profile with a locked wallet, which makes it a whole lot safer to browse the site without having to worry about your funds being exposed. PR #308
- There are new contributor guidelines, licenses and a code of conduct. PR #302
- We wrote a pre-staging script for Git that now checks Linter errors of staged files, which ensures that each commit hits our standards and checks for any issues. PR #319
- You can now see in which campaign a Milestone lives when viewing the Milestone. PR #320
- If errors occur in the DApp, we’ve added a feature that notifies users of the problem and offers to report it via email. PR #310
- Milestones can now be edited straight from the Milestone view. PR #322
- Milestone Manager and Campaign Managers can both now edit Milestones. PR #325
- Milestone workflow has been improved and is now much more secure. PR #85
- Milestones can now be re-proposed after they have been rejected. PR Commit

The EDCON Super Demo is right around the corner but we feel the DApp is ready to wow the Ethereum community. This will be a great chance to showcase the live DApp that we and a few other projects have been using for the last 4 months. EDCON is also an opportunity for us to talk about the vision of Giveth which creates transparency, donation ownership while helping projects get funded and providing learning opportunities for everyone involved.
We’re really excited to be rolling out open bounties starting this month: previously our rewardDAO system didn’t provide visibility for the value of a bounty. Now our bounties are transparent and allow contributors to see the value of a bounty before they start working on an issue. That said you can now get open bounties from Status right here 👈🏽👨🏽💻
