“There are three ways to become wise: — Meditation: which is the noblest; — Imitation: which is the simplest; — Experience: which is the most bitter.” — Confucius

I tried in a sea of silence and in a great loneliness, in the middle of nature, far from people and close to me, a sensation of endless tumult, in which the world, like an irresistible torrent, attacked me, passed through me like a transparent and imperceptible fluid.

Closing my eyes, the whole world seems to have melted into my brain, through which it passes in a torrential momentum, of an indefinable charm and an impetuous advance, then flowing out of me in the shapes and heights of waves, as in dreams of drowning a voluptuous horror.

I felt then not only how a man can live, in certain moments, the whole mysterious essence of human destiny, but also how the universality of the world can be concentrated in him, absorbed in the ecstasies of solitude.

If you closed your eyes to achieve greater silence and solitude, you lost the infinity that the external perspective offered you, to gain a more complex and attractive infinity.

And in this moment of cosmic ecstasy, of metaphysical revelation, I felt how the effluviums of this world, how my tremor was the tremor of being and how my hallucination was the hallucination of existence.

And I felt, in that unforgettable thrill, irresponsible for the existence of this world.

Have you ever experienced a moment of profound solitude, where the boundaries between yourself and the world seemed to blur, and you felt interconnected with the universe on a cosmic level?

How did this heightened sense of awareness and introspection affect your perception of existence and the essence of human destiny?
