大家好！我是故事燕子！請問你害怕行雷嗎？原來不少廣東話俗語和行雷有關，例如⋯⋯你有沒有聽過「冇雷公咁遠」呢？
「冇雷公咁遠」⋯到底有多遠呀？雷公又是誰呢？
在神話傳說裡，雷公是管理行雷的天神，他左手拿著一個尖尖的鑿，右手拿著錘仔，還有很多鼓包圍着他！當他敲打鼓面時，便會發出隆隆巨響，這些便是雷聲了。
「咳咳，好像又有凡人在說起我。」雷公坐著白雲從空中飄著出現。
哇！是雷公大駕光臨！你好，我是故事燕子，在和大朋友、小朋友介紹雷公你喔！
「原來如此，那麼順便一問，你知道為什麼我和遠近拉上關係呢？」
是這樣的，傳說因為北方氣候乾燥寒冷，不常行雷，但相反南方譬如香港，便常常炎熱潮濕，不時有雷暴。如果住在南方的人想要到沒有行雷的地方，便要到很遠很遠的北方，那裡就連雷公也不會到訪的。後來，人們便用「冇雷公咁遠」來指示很遠很遠、非常遠的地方。
「嗯！對的，我真的不喜歡到又冷又乾燥的地方 — — 」雷公抱著赤裸的雙臂打了一個乞嗤。
哎呀，雷公你還是穿上外衣吧。
「故事人，這裡也很冷，這裡不也是『南方』嗎？乞嗤！太冷了，我還是告辭了。」
雷公慢行吧！ —
看到雷公轉身後，我才告訴大家，故事燕子現在住的地方不只是南方那麼簡單！這裏是南半球的南方喔！
咦，雷公原來還沒走得遠，他左顧右盼後，竟然向更南方飄去！
啊啊！雷公、雷公，不要再往南方飛了，那邊已經是南極了！如果要回去炎熱潮濕嘅地方，是相反方向。
「哦？！是嗎？謝謝你，故事人，再會！」

Hello, everyone! I am Story Swallow! Are you afraid of thunder? Don’t you know it turns out many Cantonese proverbs are related to thunder? For example… Have you heard of “冇雷公咁遠” (As far as Lei Gong wouldn’t go)? How far is “冇雷公咁遠”? And Who is Lei Gong(雷公）?
In mythology, Lei Gong is the heavenly god in charge of thunder. He holds a sharp chisel in his left hand, a hammer in his right hand, and is surrounded by many drums.
When he strikes the drum surface, it produces a loud thunderous sound. Yes！That’s Thunder!
“COUGH！It seems like mortals are talking about me again.” Lei Gong, sitting on a white cloud, appeared from the sky.
Wow! Lei Gong has graced us with his presence! Hello, I am Story Swallow, introducing Lei Gong to adults and children!
“I see. By the way, do you know why someone associates distance with me?”
Legend has it that because the northern climate is dry and cold, thunder rarely occurs. On the contrary, in the south, such as Hong Kong, it is often hot and humid, with occasional thunderstorms. If people in the south want to go to a place without thunder, they have to go far, far north, where even Lei Gong won’t visit. Later, people used “冇雷公咁遠” to indicate a very, very faraway place.
“That’s right. I don’t like going to cold and dry places…” Lei Gong shivered with bare arms.
Oh, Lei Gong, you better put on some clothes.
“Storyteller, it’s cold here too. Isn’t this also the ‘south’? ACHOO! It’s too cold; I’d better leave.”
